King, you are wrong I didn't say that because its a Whipple and he was comparing the two superchargers, I'm saying the white one sounded like I think it should and I said that in my post and said I could be wrong. Obviously some are louder then others and some of Magnuson's may be also, pulley size might affect it as well as the idle like King said.

We did replace exp998, I don't remember how loud yours was since that was a ways back and I know it was louder then mine, I also didn't have one at the time side by side to compare as the two 16 Caddy's. Mine is pretty quiet for the abuse its taken.

I also posted a sound clip of mine and its louder than the white one and quieter than the black one. Im going to reinstall it and see if it changes. Problem is dyno and tuning are three weeks out and it can't be driven.

The noise level between my first and second (core components only) is the same, overall nothing ever changed. But the shop said they installed Whipple recently and it made the same odd sound as my Magnuson. It would be nice to know exactly what causes it. I didn't hear it for the first 10,000 miles.

Whipple says it’s back lash in the drive gears. If that’s the case it should be able to be resolved in the factory with the right shimming and testing before it leaves the factory

Nope 2300 has plenty of room. We also have two lids, one is a vet lid and the other is the Camaro lid which is taller like mine. This is an old picture, I have the RB Big Gulp now.

Vet lid is much shorter.

FWIW, I have a whipple and mine sounds exactly the same. A friend of mine has one as well and his makes the same noise. I put a smaller pulley on and the noise has mostly gone away but I can sometimes hear it, rare though. When I had the larger pulley it was much more apparent though.

It fit under a C7 Z06 hood so its pretty dam low for sure and its still under the hood of Speed Engineering 1001 rwhp vet. I want one but customers first not employees.
