Thanks but I tried that. This is my 4th GM product.
2015 ZL1 stock, knocked until I got it tuned. Dealer wouldn't help.
2017 Grand Sport, rod knock cyl #5, engine replaced. Then it happened again.
2017 Z06, car always went into limp mode, dealer never figured it out.
2018 ZL1 1LE car always goes into limp mode.

Just curious, because for the most part the LT4 has been a very solid engine.

Sorry to hear you’re tossing in the towel.

Best of luck with your next endeavor.
I'd really rather not talk about this here. The short version is:

TMTB was ruled out and is no longer in the car.
NPP switch was ruled out and is no longer in the car.
My exhaust is stock.
I did have some front end damage to my ZL1 1LE but not the Z06 though I'm experiencing the same problem in both. Dealer won't help.

You are very perceptive!
The Viper has secretly been at the top of my list.
No supercharger and still have plenty of power.
Among the best sports cars in the world.

The C63 AMG is the best all around V8 muscle car on the market.

out of that list..

I'd say the GT350 would be cool, GT-R would be cool

other options, maybe used, depending on your price. Some kind of 911 variant would be cool, R8, BMW M4/M6, Tesla P100D (with an ipod playing the favorite engine sound in your ears)

I am not sure if you have bad luck or a really shitty dealer. Unless your not being forthcoming (don't take it personally, just there are always two sides to these issues), there is no excuse for a dealer not to find the problem on a car under warranty or not it shouldn't matter (unless an aftermarket component is the source of the issue. I would seek out another dealer, your in Cali so swinging the dead cat in a different direction should yield you another option for service. Leave GM if you like, but I would make them fix the ZLE if for nothing but spite.

Sooo how much for your TMTB?

I think if i didn't have a Camaro I would have a Mustang gt350. The GT500 is looking badass but that will probably be north of 100k. The newer vipers are really nice and rare too mot everyone will be driving those around. Damn the GTR and its awd is fast as heck. Soo many choices out there. You could always say screw the 100k and buy Italian!!

All cars have their problems, some more than others. Your past ownership of cars leads me to believe you have no patience for working out any problems, sorry that's the way I read it. Yes, some cars are a lost cause with problems but, if you really like the car any problem can be fixed. In the end, it's your money use it the way you want to.

Dang, all engine related issues. I had a 2002 Z06, 2013 Camaro 1LE, 2016 Camaro 2SS, 2017 C7 Stingray and now a 2019 Grand Sport Vert. The only issue I had was damn A8 trans shudder in the Camaro.

Either you have been very unlucky or something else is going on. The 2017 Z06 was supposed to have all the updated cooling changes to prevent limp mode and the ZL1 with 11 heat exchangers should never have a problem with cooling. I would push to have a GM engineer get involved to figure it out. The ZL1 is supposed to be able to go flat out on a track with no issues and your are going into limp mode on the street?

The C63 is a great car but the new interior of the E63 is leaps and bounds ahead of almost every other MB product. Used ones are coming on the market slow and can be had for less than 100k. Lots of power, sound good, and lots of space. Also you’ll get much better service at dealers compared with how most GM dealers treat customers.

Yeah, that's hard to overcome - I had a Vette that got trapped in a parking garage because of the column lock and the service response was terrible (I had to abandon it over the weekend).

I said never again (that was my 3rd), then I did something totally different: built a high HP Supra, totally done up for track work (suspension, massive AP brakes, tons of coolers), but felt "the calling" at some point and bought a Z06. Even did a museum delivery, and it was __flawless__. In fact, it jumped started my wife's X5 Sport/4.4i a few times, because the latter was having some electrical gremlins.

... but yeah, that's a tough run of - and I generally don't like saying this - but "bad luck".

The Viper was one my primary recommendations for exactly what you outlined. The OP didn't say if he preferred a manual, but that's a big difference in a Viper vs. something like a GT-R. If it's just about going fast, the GT-R does that really well, if the *experience* is just as important, a car like a Viper has that in excess.

This is coming from someone who likes and owned a number of Japanese performance cars (Supra, S2K, (2) RX7s, the 3rd Gen was a beast on track, "only" ~450HP but 2900 lbs ...)

Since I'm shopping I have friends recommending cars (I'm specifically looking at another convertible), and a Merc of various flavors has come up, but I suspect I'm like the OP, in that I'm not a "Mercedes owner" - I think that's one of those brands where you are or aren't, the objective metrics don't matter much, there's sort of a mental brand alignment.

With the level of performance you are accustomed too the only option I see for you would be wait for the new GT500 Carbon Fiber Track Package.

Guess it depends if you are wanting another Coupe or a Sedan this time. I love my 17 Zl1 and i picked up a 18 Daytona 392 as my DD. Had i done more research prior to getting the Charger, i would have gotten the Audi RS3 instead. It is a bad little car and i have seen some running 10's without much done. They are Zl1/Hellcat price territory though. Probably hold the resale better though.
