Track Tape is probably more durable if you are trying to be super safe

You take the track tape, and stick it to your jeans, pull it off and then put it on the car. Never had any issues with Xpel, it staying on, or it coming off.

What do most people wear at a HPDE event? Is Jeans, T-shirt, helmet, gloves and good shoes pretty much the norm?

Pretty much. But some require cotton attire only, long sleeves etc. Some dont give rats ass and also accept bike helmets, or even no helmets... Best to check prior.

Glad to see this post and I have my first track weekend coming up at Road Atlanta in late June and equally excited and sure ill be nervous come that saturday morning. Chin Track days.

My question is what type of shop should I go to for the pre-track inspection check sheet? I guess I would use the same place to do the brake fluid change as well as the other required setups like track alignment. initially i thought my local dealer would be good but not sure i really trust those guys much from reading so many negative posts on the forum.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Cant help ya at your location, but i service my car at a mechanic that specializes in GM track cars.
Having said that i did get my alignment etc done at a dealer and they did a super job. But my service advisor knew it was a special car, personally supervised the work and treated the car as if it was an exotic (special ramps etc).
So it all depends..
Make sure you get ZL1addons lift pucks on a car (permanent are great) before you take it anywhere.
Cheers!

Do an event that offers in car and classroom instruction. Very helpful and can get you up to speed properly.
