GM Wickerbill Installed Photos
I know there are at least two other threads regarding the GM wickerbill, but I wanted to post a separate thread with these pictures because I know there were a lot of members interested in it who may not check the old thread despite it being bumped. Mods feel free to combine the threads once people get a chance to see this
There was a lot of talk about this part, but almost no information on the internet other than the press release photo so I decided to just take the plunge and give it a shot for myself. I was hesitant to add anything that could potentially upset the balance as Ive noticed a bit of mid to late corner push in this car as is (especially late session), but with a potential swap to a 305 square set up I'm not too worried. GM claims 100lbs at 125mph so not that much, as most tracks around here won't see 125mph in a turn. This is admittedly then, more of a look cool part at this point. I wasn't a fan of the ZL1 Addon wickerbill, it was simply just too big. I find this to be a nice balance, and quite honestly it blends in well enough that most people won't even know what it is. I'm very happy that it's color matched, and overall happy with the part. And here is a neat little photo showing the car without it installed

After having the wickerbill sitting in the shop for a few months, I finally installed it Monday and took pics today. With multiple car projects, kids, family items, work, etc., I'm a bit slow at times. I do think it is BY FAR, in my opinion, the best looking vs. the aftermarket ones seen so far.
As far as what it does to the balance with added downforce without more front splitter to offset, I'm going to do some experimenting. The ride height sensors have a voltage range when key on of 0.25 to 4.75V, the higher the lower the ride height. One of these days, I'll make a run on smooth road at a given (high) speed and get readings from the front and rear with and without the wickerbill on. I can see what it does to the ride height trims at speed. You could do the same with another car with a different wickerbill / splitter set up to compare. I'll also take some readings at full jounce and rebound to get the ride height to voltages for each corner. May take a while to do this due to my work and home schedule, but, it will be good to know. Any of that will be skewed by current vehicle weight (fuel load, junk in the trunk, etc.). |

Install wasn't very difficult at all, it even comes with a clear plastic template you tape onto the blade spoiler that shows where to drill the holes. I'd say the largest issue for me was not having a metric rivnut tool, so I had to make my own tool using a bolt and nut. I noticed that my right side bows out a bit, so it seems that despite the template one of my holes was just slightly off. Not a huge issue, hardly noticeable. Install took less than an hour.
