Engine Power is Reduced - Service Stabilitrak

I have a 2011 LS. It's pretty much all stock with only 45,000 miles on it. On Thanksgiving, I got a message saying Engine Power is Reduced - Service Stabilitrak. My car wouldn't go over 20mph. I've read a lot of forum on here saying to check my plugs and wires so I did and nothing seems out of the ordinary. So about a week went by and no issues. Now it comes on everyday. I reset it just like the manual says and it'll stay off for about a half an hour. NOW I have the engine light is on! I took it to Autozone and they hooked the computer up to it and they said it was the TPS. Now I'm pretty sure the 5th gens don't have the TPS. Correct me if I'm wrong. Other forums said it was the Throttle Body. Anybody else had this problem? If so how did you go about fixing it?

I did have this problem, exactly like you described it.
However mine happened after installing my catch can. As it turned out I had disconected a few wires/couplers to get better access to the hoses.
My fix was to plug the wires/harnesses back in and then retart the car, instant fix.
Hopefully yours is something simple as well

I wish it was something that simple. No extra work has been done on my car. I had already checked my wires.

Had the same exact issue with mine which is a 2010 with 46,000 miles and no mods. Dealer told me is was the Throttle Body and replaced it. Haven't had any issues yet. Also, just FYI but the dealer told me it was not covered under the powertrain warranty.

I got "service stabilitrak," traction control turned off, "reduced engine power," and the check engine light came on. Could barely drive the vehicle.

Just experienced this same issue yesterday with my 2010 RS (95,000kms). Dealer replaced Part# 12616994 - Throttle Body Assembly. So far all seems good.

Good luck

Kevin

i think i also have this issue. But was going to get a ported TB. Think that would fix the issue if it was that? or is this the part that you keep and swap from old to new?

Ok thanks! Best to work with dealer and get that fixed first before TB update :-)

I had close to the same problem. I was driving and out of nowhere the Service Stabilitrak warning came on, and then my car become terribly sluggish. It would go over 20, but it was like it threw a rod or something. I parked it and popped the hood and noticed that one of the spark plug wires had come loose because I saw the actual spark. Plugged that bad boy right back in and everything fixed. I NEVER have that good of luck.

Same thing started happening to me within the last 2 weeks. Finally took it to a dealer.

They told me that it was the throttle body. They also said I needed a new coil. On top of that they told me I should get an "engine soak" that cleans all the valves and whatnot overnight.

Overall this is costing me about a grand (although I am getting other unrelated things done to the car), I'm getting it back today, let you know if that works and may help you tell if its more likely that is a throttle body problem.

I had the same thing happen, mine occurred at 110K (3 years old), and it was the TB.

I pray nothing like this happens to mine. I'm at around 46k. I don't see why this wouldn't be covered under warrenty
