A10 cold start putting in to D
So its hard to explain but whenever I start up my car in the morning and once I put in to D, the car stomps. It feels similar when you let go clutch when the car is in gear(it stomps with motor shut off).
Anyone has this issue? |

2019 ZL1 1LE A10. I have not experienced that. Shifts into drive smoothly. How soon after starting the car are you shifting into D?

I've only experienced this after I reverse into a parking spot.
This issue has been around and talked about a lot. Im uncertain if anything was found out. |

That's a serious trans problem, causing it to lurch forward too? If so that's dangerous. Take it in for warranty repair asap.
And what does "stomps" mean i this context? Not a word I've heard used to describe this. |

OP’s comments imply the car is stalling. In which case, that may be TC lockup at idle when shifting to drive.
Suggestion: If it’s intermittent, then get it on video first before taking it to the dealer for warranty repair. Show the vid to the service advisor. |

I think what he's talking about is that the car shifts hard going from park to drive. Sometimes an automatic will do this is you shift too soon after start up. My advice is to watch the gauges, when they regulate and set, then shift, this only takes a few seconds.

Poor A8 got quite some flak for the same thing... if the car doesn't move and it's only the trans that gives a hard shift noise when first shifting to D in the morning, I wouldn't sweat it. Does the same thing happen with P-> D and R -> D, and if the latter, does waiting a little longer after stopping and before shifting to D reduce the "stomping"? (I'm not entirely sure if I understand the word here either, by the way.)

When I put my car in drive after a cold start, occasionally I feel what I think you're describing, which is the car kind of "hunches" down in the back. What mine is doing, if it's the same as yours, is normal. Just the car loading up, cold start elevated idle plays a part in that I believe.
Now if it's jerking forward, as in the tires actually turn some amount, then that's bad news bears. |
