I was thinking if he ordered it and took the kit to speed inc. Weapon X claims plug and play. Speed inc I’m sure has A/C equipment to deal with the freon.
Not sure if there’s a big price difference . I haven’t looked that closely.

I inquired about this kit from CSP on their website and they offered install help when I take it to my local shop. Did you buy it direct from FI?

We had one of our Engineers testing these a few years back. For road race applications you want to use the Toyota Prius or the Chevy Volt 12v DC AC compressor. Runs with no load on the engine and no WOT shutoff. You can also rig a solenoid to keep the compressor engaged during competition mode.

These, if installed properly, will maintain 40-50*F below ambient air temps at a fraction of the overall weight of a ice box system. I have not studied the WeaponX system, but they all are not that complicated to install and when done correctly are awesome. Keep in mind, at 115* IAT 1-2 degrees of timing will be pulled, at 150 3-5, and above as much as 8-10 plus. On a stock ZL1 we saw a 40 WHP gain over the stock ambient air temp system. And total weight added as app 12#. But that was 5-6 years ago. On a 1000 HP build it was not as effective, but in the 1/4 mile started at 43* when staging, at the stripe it was still below 70* and by the time we were back in the pits it was back down to below 40*. That was with the AC comp disengaging at WOT during the run.

It takes less than 3 minutes to go from 120* IAT-2 to below 45*F.

We don't sell or make them, just contributing the testing done years ago.

Thanks for the info. Did you guys do any testing on the road course with an electric a/c compressor?

I am in the process of installing my stage 2 Forced Induction Interchiller & hope that all goes fine . I have it on my 2012 ZL1 & that was with hoses already crimped and ready for installation not like this one .

What parts do they add to make it a stage 2? Guessing a 2nd Freon/fluid heat exchanger?

My take is the stage 2 adds a solenoid and inside switch to block the flow of freon from circulating through the cabin. Nothing across the evaporator, everything is going solely through the chiller. I would guess same chiller and no extra HX

The comp solenoid allows you to run the AC system in 2 modes:
1. Cabin and Chiller
2. Chiller only (race track safe)
In chiller only mode you are able to get colder intake temps and you will pass tech inspection at your race track as condensation is then unable to form on the cabin evaporator and you are then allowed to use the AC system on the track, as long as your intercooler lines are also insulated to not drip condensation.
The solenoid is controlled by a simple ON/OFF switch inside the cabin.

Didn't open the box & had to send it to the garage for the install , I think you are right & will confirm it when i go to the garage.

What you are talking about is the competition & street mode .

By the way, is there anybody in Phoenix who has one of these installed, and is working as it should?

I called a couple of shops regarding installation, and they are saying that these don't work properly in Phoenix?!? They have even uninstalled a couple of them due to that AC not being able to work because of the intense heat?? Which doesn't really make much sense since the manufaturer is located in Australia which is a pretty hot place, also, so... Any insight??
