Diode Dynamics
Do not purchase the DIODE DYNAMICS RGBW LOWER DRL LED BOARDS that state they fit the 2016-2018 Camaro ZL1. The LED boards for the lowers do not fit and Diode Dynamics has confirmed this even thou that stated it did on the forum.
I now have to take apart the upper DRL again and pull out the LED boards as the DRL would not match between upper & lower..... Phastek is issuing the refund, but I'm still irate that I spent all the time to separate the headlights and install the boards, and then separated the lowers to find they don't fit.  Thanks for letting me vent! |

Update: Diode Dynamics sent email last night stating that they are working on new LED boards to fit 2016-2018 ZL1 Lower DRL. They will be ready towards end of August.

just went through a similar deal, but i can’t complain about their customer service one bit. it would be nice to have had a heads up about compatibility huh?!
if you ever have to change a low beam on an 18 grand Cherokee, i feel for you... |

Diode dynamics uses an RGBW board with a warmer white LED than OEM. You will find that it is both wrmer and dimmer than the normal running lights. So if anyone buys just the upper boards and runs the lower OEM LED's, it won't look good togeyther.

I was wondering when they said it does both. The lights don't even look similar, so I was curious on how that works.

I'd just stay away from Diode Dynamics period. I've seen the Gen5 guys complain about their side markers and mail slot lights going out after only a few months. I really wanted a pair but the reviews were Meh at best so I stayed away.
OP, I'd be furious to have to pull the car apart that far, just to have to put it back together stock, then try again when they possibly get it right later, especially when they are 4 months late on the fix. Can't imagine it's that hard to make the correct set... Oh well. Happy Modding! |

does the front bumper cover have to come off the zl1 in order to take out the headlights & drl's to install the diode dynamics package
