the sub enclosure should be able to come and rest against the bracket that the threaded rod was attached to without the rod attached . if it does not maybe the interior trim is not cut out enough and it is fighting you from the box fitting all the way into the opening . With the sub out , and the threaded rod not in , looking in the hole of the enclosure you should be able to see it close the the inner quarter bracket that the rod attaches to

Thanks for the tip!!! Lol, I noticed that very small hole in the front of the package shelf. Of course this was after I put the rivet nuts in!!! It is secure, and I am happy. The box sets in there like a champ. I will finish wiring this animal up today hopefully.
