If you have TC shudder, take it to the dealer and have the fluid changed. There is a bulletin with a procedure to stop that shudder.

If that doesnt work you'll need it replaced so definitely not something you want to possibly void with a tune before taking it in.

Shudder is a mechanical problem not a tuning problem.

Are you sure it is not AFM vibration.

seems that I was correct that it is in fact a tune issue not a mechanical.

No sir it is in fact a mechanical issue, that can be overridden with tuning.

The clutch material used in the converters along with the fluid chemical make up are the cause.

The dealer are flushing the transmissions, level 1, changing converters, level 2 and rebuilding the transmissions level 3 along with transmission reprogramming.

I can confirm this has been my experience as well. Dealer told me the fluid was the cause. Triple flush and the shudder never returned.

I got the triple flush, the shudder came back so I tried tuning it out by turning off DOD and zeroing the converter slip tables but the shudder was still there. Once you get the shudder back, it's already too late to try to tune it out. I didn't want a new torque converter that may shudder again so I figured either sell the car or go aftermarket. I went with a circle D converter and it's working great so far

When going with an aftermarket torque converter what else did you need to do, unlock and tune the TCM as well? Any issues since the converter change?
