Spoiler end cap 1LE

Appears left is coming loose, question is this held on by two way tape?

Yes. My dealer forgot to install mine during PDI, so I installed mine myself. Just 2 sided tape.

Yes, strip the tape, do both surfaces with lots of alcohol scrub, reapply tape.

Mine is coming loose on the left side also and mines a 2020. I bought it new in February. So far only the very outside of the tape is failing. But I don’t want the rest to fail and have the end cap fly off. One of the other guys had his come off at the track the other day but I don’t know his tag. It’s odd that a few are coming off just on the left side.

Ya make sure that you correct that. Mine was loose for two years I thought the tape was good enough and I mucked around with it and it recently dropped away going down the highway.

Mine has never been leveled with the spoiler.. going to the dealer Saturday. I doubt there going to do anything but it’s more to address the paint chipping near the edge where the trunk spoiler meets.

i had a heck of a time attaching mine after removing them to vinyl wrap the car. Went through several iterations, until i got 3M vhb + adhesive promoter to work. While it was easy to remove with fishing line, my issue was removing the pad between the winglet and the quarter panel. I never could get it all off, so the surfaces were not adhering to the tape well. After i put them back on, they still have a little too much movement, but them seem to be on, they didn't fall off on a Pocono track night hitting 140+ on the longest straight.

Did you buy your car new? If its a 2017 and its just now lifting your doing way better than me. I know the dealer will fix it, but I think the end pieces are only attached by tape. Its so stinking hot out here and when my car sits outside in the parking lot I think it just gets way to hot.

When I took the side parts off mine it was held by some blue glue and it stained my paint. I compounded most of it out but it still has a blue ring on both sides.

I bought mine new. Still at under 6000 miles and they were installed by the dealer. I'll order some new 3m tape and reattach it myself just to make sure its put on properly.
