I've got the A10 and the car revs faster with the Tony Mamo for sure, I also put a Green filter on along with a Borla Cat back Attack. The Red Beast hauls ASS

Not sure about the labor costs shop vs shop for an SC install/tune, but from what I have seen on the Weapon-X, Fasterproms, etc. porting of the snout and manifold are about $1,000-1,100 bucks. Some postings on these here interwebs are saying folks are getting 30-40RWHP from porting. So $1k/30rwhp vs. $6k/125rwhp...wellll I already have a SC on there (factory yes but whatevs) for the extra money I figure for a mild build why throw down $6k+ when I can spend a fraction of that just making the most out of the factory equipment? On an N/A SS Id say hold the presses and go FI before spending money on lickies/chewies, but on the ZL1 I say why not build what you got? my 2c

I'm going to order a pair of Mamo ones for my LT4 cars.

I know Tony Mamo, and he definitely knows his shit when it comes to airflow. I bought one of his throttle bodies, but I never ended up using it since I went a different direction with the car. If interested, shoot me a PM.

Is this a good place to start for simple mods to gain a little extra and is this a simple swap or does changing the TB require a tune? My bad if this is a dumb question but this is my first FI motor.

Yes, it's a great place to start, pair it with a drop in filter or an intake like Cold Air Inductions, Roto-Fab, or K&N etc. No tuning needed for the TB/Intake.

CCW, what direction did you go? I have seen a few people post something similar, that they bought a TM TB and then couldnt use it because of their build direction.

I did the TM TB and Green Filter and have been very happy. Figured it would be good til i decide how i want to go with future upgrades. I plan to be conservative when i do my mods with goals around 700rwhp. Its hard enough to keep the car straight with just these simple mods, it will be a handful at 700+ on the street. Only disclaimer for me is i really love the sound of some of the Cammed LT4's i have heard and i may go that route.

Let's see if I can cast some perspective on the debate about ported throttle bodies, more specifically, Tony Mamo's PTB.

When I did a few pulls pre Tony Mamo when my ZL1 had 2000 miles on it, I competed against some decent competition. As follows:

1. me vs FBO E85 2016 lightened mustang - pulled at 90mph
2. me vs f430 Ferrari - pulled at 75mph
3. me vs FBO C6 Corvette - pulled at 80mph
4. me vs 2017 C63amg 4 door - pulled at 70mph

Now after I installed the TM TB and green filter, the ZL1 felt sooooo much smoother in power delivery and the response was much more abrupt.

This is what my pulls are like with the TM TB and green:

1. me vs f430 Ferrari - pulled at 68mph
2. me vs FBO E85 2016 lightened mustang - pulled at 78mph (same as above)
2. me vs FBO c6 Corvette - pulled at 75mph (same as above)
3. me vs FBO c7 corvette - pulled at 90mph
4. me vs SC Lexus with fully blown 1j at 670whp - pulled at 110mph
5. me vs 2017 C63amg with tune only, 570whp - dead heat until 120mph..he starts to eek by (same as above)

Of course I have a ZL1 M6, so to drive fast it still requires some skill...but the TM TB is the truth!!

This is a simple mod and undoubtedly has benefits. However it seems to me that the gains are not worth voiding the warranty on your engine.

It’s visibly the same on the exterior and doesn’t throw a code so, how would it void your warranty?

I ported my throttle bodies on both my 2ss and zl1.

The 2ss is a M6 and I noticed it right away. It had a lot better throttle response, more free revving and snappy.

The zl1 is a A10 and I didn't really notice any improvement in throttle response and it seems to rev about the same. The real difference came in the form of quicker pick up when you step on it (if that's possible) and it seems to have more torque down low in the rpms. I put a green filter in and it seemed to improve it more and take full advantage of the porting.

This is just my opinion and is hard to describe unless your behind the wheel.

I went with a 103mm TB because of the Whipple.
