I store my SS in the winter and this saves me cash. When I take it out, I call the Insurance company and they re-instate the policies.
Are you referring to Grundy Collector, or insurance in general? I know about regular insurance, as that is what I do each year.

I'm 66 yoa. Zero points or past violations. I still pay $1100 per year, with a $500 deductible. But also opted for some better coverage for uninsured, higher medical coverage, etc. So not really a base level policy.
USAA is the way to go. They've always treated me right.
$77 a month full coverage(also better than standard, actually my plan is so good they don't try to sell me on a higher one anymore )

Had to file a couple hail damage and tree damage claims and they were johnny on the spot.

I'm a lil late to the party here but I'm also Military, bought my car last year while I was still 22, only $103 a month with Geico!!! I had a 2012 2SS right before this one and was paying $135 a month on it, Geico quoted me a full $30 less a month that Nationwide on the 17', can't recommend Geico enough for Military!!!

I have heard complaints from some about the customer service from Geico but idk where that comes from. My Supervisor got sideswiped in his 16' GT back in March, the Lady tried to get out of and blame it on him, Geico took his side, never had a doubt they wouldn't come through and got it all taken care of in 2 weeks. I don't see where the negativity towards Geico comes from.

One thing to watch out for on the cheaper rates is being under insured. When I was 19 and driving a POS it was ok to have 25k/50k bare minimum coverage limits. As I got older and afforded nicer (more expensive) autos I didn't think to increase coverage amounts. Luckily I caught myself before needing it. I now carry 100k/300k limits with a 500 deductible and it really didn't impact my premium. I've been with Geico 20 years and pay $75 a month.

i am paying 196 a month with Geico for my 2018 SS 1LE. Amica quoted me about the same. I have a clean driving record too. Wondering how some are getting such low rates. Any advice would be appreciated

Location plays into insurance rates a lot besides age

The Geico price is amazing.

Was exactly in your shoes. 19 years old. New muscle car.

My insurance, in NYC, was $5K+ per year.

Age + Car = High Risk pricing.

asking around locally would help. Around here, state farm and progressive seem to rule the roost. I had state farm, and when I moved, my insurance went up to $635 a month for 4 vehicles (nothing on record, I'm 34, and have had insurance through them since I was 18). I went from state farm to progressive and it dropped to 275 for the same 4 vehicles (2017 camaro 2ss, 2014 hyundai genesis track edition, 2016 kia forte5 turbo, 2007 toyota yaris). Everyone I asked has had no issues with either (other than price). Anyone with any other insurance seemed to have some sort of hiccup with them in the past for whatever reason.

Damn, Parish8! What are the details on your Geico policy? I'm 58 with no points or claims on my record and I'm paying $1600/year with Geico for a 1000 deductible policy. I dont dd my car. Not to mention, I've followed your build, no way should you be paying less than me lol!

I've had Geico for ~ 5 years, had to file a few claims, they have been awesome.

Bottom line is driving a sports car at 19 is a "you gotta pay to play" situation.

I'm 38 and just got a new to me '16 2SS and my insurance went up $38 per month. Yes, it costs me $38 a month for full coverage. It's my 3rd vehicle on our policy through Progressive and both my wife and I have no tickets or anything on our records.

I'm 20 and have had the car for about 8 months. I currently pay $220 and that includes my 16 2ss and 02 honda accord. Currently with safeco insurance.

$629/year 2017 Camaro 2SS

$250k/$500k liability, $1000 deduct for comp/collision (car is still financed at this point), includes towing & $0 full safety glass coverage

I'm old, married, clean credit, clean driving record, lucky me... I guess.
