You are wrong. The fluid change is a bandaid not a fix. There are countless people who got the fluid change and it was only a temporary reprieve. You can read numerous people in different posts attesting to this.

The key word in that Lubegard advertisement: "Reduces"
Not fixes the shudder, Not prevents the shudder, but "Reduces".

It also says:
"When your customer is suffering from TCC shudder.. you can
help them avoid the expensive replacement of their OEM ATF by
simply adding 2 bottles.."

Notice it says "help them avoid" not prevent. So this is not a fix
but another bandaid to add onto GM's bandaid non-solution.

Since GM refuses to admit they have a defective design OR 5 years
of using defective torque converters, I am left with the feeling that
the GM bean-counters have decided that the most economical way
out of this (for GM profits) is to do nothing hoping as many warranties
expire as possible before the torque converters fail completely so
GM has fewer repair costs to deal with. IE: Let the customer eat
the replacement costs after the warranty is up.

Also note the advertisement suggests that it is appealing to the repair
mechanic to "help the customer avoid costly failure". That's a joke.
GM won't admit the problem and prevented us from getting these
bandaid flushes for years using a pico test as a "gate" to refuse
customers who came in with shudder and asked for the flush.
Based on this behavior, the odds of GM allowing the dealers to
spend an extra $20 (or whatever this product costs) is zero.

The advertisement should have been worded for the car owner.
Maybe wording like this would be more fitting:

Dear GM Owner..
We know GM has been Fu**ing you for years so we have researched
and developed a product that may prolong the life of your poorly
designed torque converter system which is destined to fail eventually.
Our goal is to help you delay your eventual replacement costs by
several years.

PS: Thanks NobleSS for the effort. It's nice to know non-GM companies
are stepping forward to acknowledge GM's failure.

PPS: The best solution is to buy the manual transmission Camaro instead.

I had the manual in a 2015 2SS 1LE and it was clunky. Many folks don't like the manual either, it was really easy to shift from 1 and miss 2 and drop into 4th. Hey I live in flat Florida and could not take a manual in this traffic for more than a year. Auto is the way to go for me. If the issue goes away with ECM re-program or new fluid its not a design flaw like others suppose here. That said some dealers may not be as good as others and not know how to fix the issue.

So I did the the triple flush probably 6 months ago. Of coarse that didn’t solve the issue, fast forward 200 miles and the dealer replaces my TC. Great right?... nope, shudder returns. So now I got another fluid flush today with the new “upgraded” formula and need to allow 500 miles on the fluid. Anyone out there get beyond this point? My question is what’s my dealers /GMs next move when this new fluid fails to correct the shudder?

All I know is I got the "new" flush about 6,000 miles ago and the shudder is gone. Good luck.

I'm not saying the new fluid fixes it for sure, but it SEEMS LIKE these "shudder" threads have quieted down a lot since dealers started flushing with the new fluid.

Has anyone experienced a hiss and fast tick from the engine compartment during the shudder? I tend to drive with music off and noticed in V4 during the shudder when it is bad I also get a hiss and fast tick until the car shifts.

Had my 2017 2SS A8 triple flush (older fluid)at about 4500 miles. It just returned at 9300 miles. It goes in tomorrow for the newer fluid. This has to be costing GM a fortune. I see Ford just extended their warranties to 100,000 miles for auto transmissions on Focus and another model that has an issue. GM should do the same. If I decide to keep the car after warranty and the issue returns again I will get an aftermarket TC and tune.

A 100,000 mile extension would be a nice gesture, but would be a moot point for those of us that had an extended warranty anyways.

Unless you had one of those super special ones that specifically only took over after the factory warranty expired and added time/mileage after that.

I had my flush done yesterday and so far it’s gone . My car finally rides like it did when I got it 2.5 years ago . I had ignored it for so long but it got to the point that it felt like I was off-roading when I was on the interstate . My shudder started more than a year ago but when I took it early last year the dealer didn’t know what I was talking about lol . I’m hoping this fix is the answer as I actually enjoy driving it again .

I got the flush done 2 days ago. I can’t make this stuff up but the car drives COMPLETELY DIFFERENT! Hoping that this is the cure and not a band-Aid fix
