2020 1lt V6 Camaro exhaust system
I recently bought a used Camaro that was originally equipped with the performance exhaust system. The previous owner straight piped it and it also has catalytic converters. There's no muffler(s) on it because of this. The dealer won't fix this because they are claiming this is all legal (if someone knows if this is true, please let me know). The problem is it's too loud for me and I could potentially get fined for how loud it is since I'm in NYS.
I'm asking for advice...should I get an aftermarket exhaust (I'm assuming I'd only need mufflers to "reverse" the straight pipes) or should I get the whole thing replaced with the OEM exhaust system? I've been quoted for about $2300 for the aftermarket exhaust (includes install) and about $3500 for the OEM exhaust (includes install). If an aftermarket system, please give recommendations for the quietest one available since I know they are still pretty loud. THANKS! BTW I'm new to all of this so please keep that in mind. |

That is your 2nd cats . Your resonator is gone.I would get mbrp mufflers.I think around $400 maybe less.

I had a mechanic add 2 magnaflow mufflers and now it sounds great! They also told me not having any mufflers on the car is illegal to sell.
