New owner Tips? Tricks?
I am new to this site so I hope this is posted in the right area, let me know if not! Just picked up a 2010 SS the other day. Was curious if there is any maintenance tips or things to look out for that are specific to this car? Just want to make sure I have everything to keep this baby going mean and hard for a long time!

First off, congrats and welcome to the family!
How many miles does your Camaro have? Automatic or manual? That'll help us tell you what to look for maintenance wise.

Appreciate it Overflow! And it has around 56k mileage. It is the LS3 with the 6 speed manual.

Personally I would change all the fluids that way you know when and how they were done.

Power is there and can easily be added with basic bolt-ons... Congrats on the ride.
I'll add here a note regarding the suspension on our 10's. It is sub-par and can be greatly improved by adding a good suspension kit. I recommend Hotchkis to include all items in the race pack (sways, endlinks, springs, strut and chassis braces). Don't neglect your suspension on these 10's. |

Drop them fluids, change them filters & then enjoy it for a week or two while you decide how you gonna liberate all them ponies that GM left under the trunk mat!

Congratulations and welcome; you'll find a lot experts and experience here in various areas. As far as maintenance, the first thing I always do regardless of what the seller has told me, is change all the fluids. This gives you a known starting point using the brands you prefer. From there, just follow the Owner's Manual for periodic maintenance. Beyond that, enjoy the new ride and deciding what, if any mods you want to do.

Hey I appreciate all the tips everyone! I already did All fluid swaps except Diff fluid which was checked 10k ago according to maintenance history. I am pretty fluent when it comes to engine work, Especially Chevy V8s. And Spec it appears the previous owner did some intake work, Long tube headers, and a Borla Exhaust (Not sure if catback or axle back) I really appreciate the tips on the Suspension!! Noted!!! I've always debated on getting a new Camaro, I'm only 25 and I've owned a 84 and 89 and they were a blast! Seen this one online...Took it for a drive and fell in love soon as she fired up! But again I will look into the suspension, For all I know some of it could have been upgraded.

Just for the better in my book... a bit harsher than stock but nothing to cry about. Its expected with a higher performance suspension. Read up on the comments on this site for more feedback. You won't regret it. |

Eh Its a trade-off I can live with. I honestly prefer a stiffer suspension. Feels more in control.
