Stock 1LE big loss of power

Hey Guys,

I've been lurking for a while so thanks ahead of time for the answers. I have 2018 ZL1 1LE with 5000 miles that I do HPDE events. Anyway I have lost a bunch of power for no reason. I went from doing 151mph at Roebling Road to now topping out at 135mpg. Same warm weather and same settings on PTM, ETC. It just feels like I have 150HP less!!! Today a Ford Mustang Shelby 350 was drafting behind me. Usually not even close. No codes, three tanks of gas from different locations and it runs/sounds fine. Going to a dealer tomorrow, but has anyone had the same problem?

Maybe you have air in the supercharger coolant lines. Many of us have gone out and purchased a aftermarket solution for a supercharger coolant reservoir as that will make sure the line is always clear of any air.

You can go to the dealer and see if they can perform a bleed for the supercharger or do it yourself. As this will make the car feel sluggish with no codes or anything.

Hmmmm I'm new to the LT4 and that makes sense. The red reservoir on the passenger side was of the engine was almost empty recently. That was after sitting for 6 months.

That is engine coolant not SC coolant. Intercooler is also a closed loop separate from engine coolant. Stock its a pain in the ass to bleed.

If you have the ability to log with hp tuners, you can check your IAT/MAT temps which would confirm if you have a heat soak type of issue.

#1 cause of loss of power: Air in the supercharger coolant loop. Even though it's a closed loop, water will slowly evaporate out over time.

There's no easy access tank to add fluid into, but there is a fitting. No need to visit the dealer if you are good with tools:

If not, you can buy one of these for $15 and use a 2L bottle as a funnel:

Or you can add a supercharger reservoir.

If I use the aftermarket adapter and use the bottle as a funnel, how do I refill it? Do I just add coolant to the bottle and run the car until no more coolant goes in? How long do I run the car for?

You can run the car, or do like I do and jump the intercooler pump circuit.
