Nitto NT555RII

For those of you running the NT555RII in the rear... What kind of pressure are you guys running?

Book says 26psi for drag racing. So, I am curious what street pressures you guys are running. I have mine set at 38psi for now, but I am unsure that is optimal for around town driving.

I've run mine at 28-30psi for daily driving. Feels like the best compromise.

Thanks for the replies...

I will definitely be lowering my pressure when I get home.

Didn't drive it today... It is raining here in NC...

I don't run 38psi in any of my vehicles. typically 30-32psi works well for most tires. Trucks might need higher pressure depending on the tire.

I run 20 psi on my 285-40-18s at the track on my C7. I also run the 305-35-19 R2s on the street and run 28 psi in those. They keep it running pretty straight at Wot and my Michelins suck on the street so only run those for longer trips. Your gonna get some pretty severe wear if you run those at 38 psi

Anything over 28 psi isn't utilizing these tires capability. Per Dragy I 60ft 1.75(3.0 0-60) on a unprepped street with 305/35/20 @ 26 psi. I have tried running above 28 psi to keep the tire light off and 1.9(3.3 0-60) is the best I can do. A well prepped track might yield different results.

I think I might try a lower psi like your running. I have the 555R2s on my stock Hellcat in a 305-35-20 and I’d thought it would be a huge game changer but honestly I’m not really impressed. Maybe I could be the small group of folks that didn’t have much luck with the Nittos.

I have been currently running them around 28-30 psi on the street. I lowered them to about 25 psi but wasn't able to test it out yet. I’m not sure if it’s too low since the TPMS went off. Should I air them back up a bit? For what it’s worth these tires held up just well in the rain with no sense of feeling insecure driving them in the wet.
