OMG I just found this....

Congratulations! Your vehicle has been produced. It is important to know that shipping arrangements will take place next and your selling dealer is the best source for additional detail on that process.

For the record, I ordered December 8th, and it was accepted by GM on the 16th of December. Apparently it was built this week. No PDR, no 1LE bits, but it is a ZL1 with red kneepads, red seatbelt, but no carbon fiber bits.

I asked once last week, but it was overlooked. I figure he is really busy so I have been going to the GM chat website where I just plug in my number and an automated response is generated. I figure my build date was moved forward like yours.

They probably had an allocation for another trim. A "Camaro" allocation could be a 1SS, 2SS, ZL1, LT1, 1LT, 3LT.....but it's not all of them. I bet their allocation simply didn't line up with your desired options.

Maybe. But they knew exactly what I wanted when I ordered. Why not tell me then? Oh well, picking up my deposit tonight. May just give up. Other options fell through too.

I absolutely agree with this btw. My truck is the "cherry red" color, and its freaking fantastic. They also make FAR LESS of them than the red hot, so it's definitely more rare.

Since this could be my last Camaro, I REALLY want red! Yes, you are correct. If I am willing to settle for another color and options, I could grab one off a dealer lot. I like the wild cherry. White is ok. But I don't see many on the lots around here. Maybe in the Spring.

The Corvette is red and I've never been pulled over. The Camaro - well, yes. But I always get the warning!! Respect goes a long way!

Completely agree Interestingly, I'm yet to be pulled over in my (garnet red) Camaro, interestingly the family SUV has been more of a target, go figure.

My other problem with red hot is that it's a bland, plain color. Once you see the metallic flakes producing a beautiful "flare-up" with garnet red and the newer cherry red, it's hard to go back to "cartoon" paint from such royal, deep colors. Then again, we all have different tastes and preferences, I'm not saying this as though it were some ultimate truth
