Rear Tires for ZL1

Does anyone have 345 30ZR19 rear tires on their ZL1 1LE and if so are there any issues? The 1LE 12" rims are perfect for this size.

Rarely. Just go with the 4S in 325.

They will fit, and I know there are a couple guys on here running 345's on their ZLE, but not many.

I see no reason why it can't fit with the right offset but its certainly going to poke without a doubt. Some like poke though.

I'm running Nitto 555RII on 19x12" wheels in the rear. Passenger's side is no issue, driver's side requires moving a harness and a little messaging of the inner liner with a heat gun and a small roller.

The 345s actually have less sidewall bulge than I expected. I dig it on the ZLE.

I've always be curious as to why no one really upsizes tire width on regular ZL1 wheels, even to 315s.

Really not a lot to be gained from doing it, but I have considered swapping the rear tires on my ZL1 to a 315 when it comes time to change tires.

I plan to do 325s when I have to replace mine. 305s up front, too. Maybe I'll lose a little turn-in response, but I probably couldn't tell, and I'd prefer a little more curb protection and just like the look better. I like a little poke.

Going a little wider is my thinking too when the time comes to replace the SC3s which will be before the end of the year. My concern is that I prefer a flat side wall and may have some bulge going more than 1 size up on either front or rear. I'd love to see some 325/30's out back on 11" wheels though!

I run the nitto555r2 in stock size of 305 30 20. Trying to find the toyos next time but impossible to find. The nittos work pretty well.

That's the brand I was considering due to popularity and price, althought PS4s aren't very far behind. Glad to hear some feedback from a fellow ZL1 owner about them.

Everything is not as it seems...

Goodyear doesn't make the factory Eagle F1 Supercar 3 in 315/30/20 or 325/30/20, and no one wants to put 315/35/20 on their ZL1 due to the tall sidewall. Also, I looked at the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S data, and the 315/30/20 and 305/30/20 are listed as the exact same width (12" wide), so there's no width to be gained from a 315 and the 315 has a slightly taller sidewall. I thought maybe it was a typo, but all the 315 tires said 12" on the Michelin website, matching the 305s. The Shelby GT500 has Michelin 305 in
the front and 315 in the rear - they have the same section width but a different tread compound, so this prevents people from rotating the tires. Sneaky.

Interestingly, the 305/30/20 Eagle F1 3 tires are listed as 12.3" wide (vs. 12.0" for the Michelin PS4S in the same size). Also, the 285/30/20 are 11" (PS4S) and 11.4" (GY SC3), making the Goodyear nearly 1/2" wider in the same size spec. I have noticed before that the Michelin PS4S tires appear narrower than the Goodyears, and that proves it. They are actually narrower tires.

There's other manufacturers that may make 315/30 that are actually wider than the 305/30, but I didn't check them.
