I 2nd the post about the crappy supplier brush with the G2 kit. I did the Home Depot run to buy a small disposable $3 brush & it worked great. I bought the high temp Brembo stickers on amazon prime, so there are options out there. I read about issues with adding a clear coat, so didn't do that step. As was mentioned, the brush marks level out & with 3 coats, it looks pretty smooth. I let the G2 dry for 2 days before applying the stickers as I wanted the G2 to finish outgassing.

I really like the yellow with the blue, looks fantastic. Great choice OP!

I used $7 caliper spray paint from pepboys and finished both of the front calipers in about 30 minutes.

Any chance i could see a photo of the lights on the front of the car with the illuminated bow tie at night? Really intrigued!

Rattle can application and G2 are not the same. I've done both , the G2 looks far more professional.

I didn't paint the backside since you can't see any of it once the wheels are on. No one has noticed and I doubt anyone will.

Great info. I ordered the 6-pistons on my 2018 MBM vert, and will want to paint the rear calipers to match.

My questions:

1. It seems that if you are very careful, you can paint the front caliper and the side red without removing the brakes from the car? Wheels off, lots of masking, yes? I hope this is the case, as I really don’t want to get into the brake caliper removal.

2. What color G2 paint to match the factory-installed Brembo’s”. (Want to make sure!)

Thanks very much for the extra info!

I did the whole thing when I did it...was in the middle of a brake job, anyways.

be careful, Iv'e heard that matching the fronts are hard to do due to the hue of orange that's in it. I ended up ordering the rear calipers to match the fronts. Granted it cost a lot more than probably powder coating, at least the color matches.

i stayed away from G2 because of how its easy it is to tell its G2. I have a kit i haven't touched because i was a afraid of it looking like examples I've seen.

Rattle can is the route that i went and it looks much better than G2 imho. I hope it lasts. i would have went powdercoat to start but wanted to make sure i liked the blue before making it too permanent

Oneredry: I was concerned about them looking different... Did you order a second set of just the 6-piston calipers for the rear? And can they just swap out the factory 4-pistons, without any change in rotor, mounts lines, etc?

Maybe I just paint all 4 of them grey and put new decals on them. Mess with folks’ heads.

And to my main question: Has anyone painted just the front half of the caliper without taking anything but the wheels off?

Again, thanks for the advice!
