Just my opinion but I do not believe GM will put the LT4 in yet another Camaro model.

If this new mystery Camaro has the LT4, my money is that it is a track focused ZL1 such as an 'R' model and NOT a Z/28.

If it is not the LT4 and is an NA motor, it will be a Z/28.

If they do put a blown LTx in it, I hope it has the new 2.65 Eaton just announced.

I tend to agree with you, and I'll bet so would a lot of others.

The irony of which is............the Z/28 moniker literally hinges on a choice of engine, and not the car as a whole...a legend that started when the factory was forced to choose a displacement limited by the racing series...

I'm still thinking a completely new engine and not supercharged

The Z/28 should be NA... didn't we do this dance once before and were gifted with the LS7? So where does TEAM Camaro find a suitable engine for the 6th Gen Z?

That's the issue. There is no existing engine from a Corvette for the Z/28 to use.

Is the hierarchy at GM really gone? This is one place where we can find out.

If, IF it were possible to use the LS7, would that satisfy the Z/28 buyer?

Those "ZR1" spyshots aren't actually of a ZR1, but of a naturally aspirated track monster. New engine 550hp to be shared with a Z/28..

If they can use the LS7 without having to charge a similar premium, I think it would but the LS7 is more than 10 years old. They would be better off with a new LTx based engine.

Meh. I'd rather see a destroked 6.2.

Of course, if they price it to the moon like the 5th Gen Z/28, then I won't even be remotely interested. Which, by the way, there are still a ton of 2015 Z/28s sitting in showrooms. Hell, there is one in Michigan for $49,980 on cars.com.

I'm curious to know of any reason you think this is so. Do you have some insider info or something else that's driving this statement?
