Simply if you don’t have a special VIN or some freaky rare combo...........it will simply depreciate.
Adjusted for inflation go see what 30 year old F-bodies are going for at auction. The Gen6 (not C6) will never hold value or become more valuable. For reference go check resale on SS sedans. Wayyyyyyy more rare than the Camaro. Holding value fine but still well less than purchase price 4 years after stopping production.

What's more important overall is that things need to be understood at a macro level for something like this, not just the micro level. "Zoom out" and look at the bigger picture, don't just keep chirping at the public about EV is the future... Green is the way forward... Etc. Recent studies have shown that the temps have gone UP in the last year because the air is so much less polluted (due to the drop in global travel). Are we going to have to start driving high-polluters again to save our planet from baking itself because too much sun gets through? lol I'm not a fan of EV's. At all. In any form. Why do some folks drive diesels? Because they want to, or maybe they need to. Let the public decide on EV's for themselves - don't mandate it and force it on everyone. |

I had a 2012 5.0 The Gen 5 SS had cheap looking plastic, BUT is also slower than a Coyote. That was the big reason I went with the 5.0 When it comes to the Gen 5 Camaro SS the 2011 to 2015 Mustang GT is the better car and quicker. Now a gen 6 Camaro I would take over the Current Mustang. However the Coyote engine there are many mods to wake it up. Wasn't so much that ford advertised the 2011 GT better. Chevy did too but the 2011 GT is a better car overall comparing it to a 2011 Camaro SS. |

Drive the crap out of it. Why save it for someone else? You want stories like (grandpa or grandma) use to race this old camaro.... Not Grandpa waxed an old car for 30 yeats, died and left it to Becky who sold it to buy a house with the drummer kid down the street....

But even just take a look at 30 year old Camaros and Mustangs and similar cars and what they are selling for with low miles. Case in point - a mid 80's Monte SS sold for $32K last month on BAT. An 1100 mile 1991 1LE bid to $25K but didn't quite hit reserve. That's $8K over MSRP on that car back in 1991. a 2001 Z28 with 5K miles sold for $17K on BaT 85 IROC with 2500 miles was bid to $20K and didn't hit reserve '99 SS with 2700 miles sold for $29,500 '92 1LE sold for $45K '87 Iroc sold for $25K '91 Z28 sold for $14K 6K mile '96 Impala SS sold for $21,500 That was just January.... So - not buying your argument that these cars will not be worth something in 20 years. These cars from the '80's and '90's selling now are terrible cars compared to the current crop of performance cars and look what they are doing. Imagine adding in the element of no more gas powered performance vehicles available new from MFGs within 10-15 years from now and let's see where these things end up. I am rather bullish... |

If you want to make money on something, put it in the stock/bond market. You'll make 5-10% a year on average, depending on how risk averse you are. Not many things have outperformed the stock market over the years. If the markets fail, then we're probably all pretty ****ed anyway, so what's the difference at that point. For example, if you invested $5000 in the DJIA in 1969 (about the purchase price of the 69 Camaro with some options) it'd be worth $190k today.
