I use a Uniden R7, though it is very expensive and I got a slight discount by buying a refurbished unit from a vendor.

Lazers could be from other cars' taillights. My old Valentine One would occasionally pick up other cars' brake lights as a false lazer. Speaking of which, I was going to get a Valentine One Gen 2, but their production has been on a hiatus due to COVID-19, and I was going to trade up to it with my Valentine One Gen 1, it got flooded with my Corvette so there goes that plan. The new Valentine One Gen 2 seems to do filtering decently well. Same with my Uniden R7, for the most part. Sent from toaster or something

I'm currently using the Uniden DFR7 but I plan on getting the Radenso Theia once it comes it. Should be in the next couple of months.
They're claiming NO blind-spot monitoring false alerts. It'll be able to differentiate between Constant-on and Instant-on radar, a first for any radar detector on the market. It'll also be able to identify the exact radar gun being used. Not that that's overly useful, but at least you'll be able to KNOW it's police radar. Check it out: https://radenso.com/products/radenso-theia Last edited by NightfallSS; 10-22-2020 at 01:06 PM. |

Used to have use for them... now I know how to drive in CA. When to hit it... when not to...
I had to have one back when I had my 99 Z28... With this car, no need. People don't want to go any more... for one. They know a modded V8 when they see and hear one. If I want to go fast, its hardly ever racing. Even those touted GT's play nice. Also, everyone drives fast. If you're not doing 80 on the freeway, you're slow. That's 10mph over the speed limit when you're cruising. In CA, you won't get stopped for that in traffic. If you want to go faster than that, its typically not safe. People around here are going for more 'practical' cars these days too, not sport cars. What's really the use of having one here? Lastly, Cops ain't stupid... they can tag you these days within a second. If you can slow down to the speed limit going fast enough to get stopped within a second, freaking amazing... |

Uniden R3. It's paid for itself over and over again.

Had Uniden R3, but just Upgraded to R7. In my opinion, uniden is one of the best. It has never failed me.

R3 and Waze in the Camaro. Just drove 1,400 miles down to Palm Beach in record time. I use the same setup in my vette and Tahoe as well. Knock on wood, has not failed me.

Waze has proven invaluable for me when traveling. I have it installed on my Android head unit, so it comes over my car's speakers at whatever volume I have set in the app. It will also lower all the other audio the stereo is playing when it has alerts. Combined with my cheapo Cobra detector it has saved me a fortune.
