I think this is characteristic of dual disc clutches. Near the bite point they have more of an on/off feel than single disc.
There are single disc options available aftermarket:

The performance edge, though, is with the dual disc

Why would you actually want that?

Do you get extra points on your Man Card® for having a pointlessly hard pedal?

All of my performance cars have been manual.

Having said that, with "feel" being so subjective, you are better off to talk to a rep from a few of the different aftermarket clutch companies. With so many variables on the table, including your own preferences, no one here can offer the quality of advice that the clutch companies can.

Don't take it personally, this is the downside of modern day internet and everyone will post opinions and bash you if they don't like something. (look at the '19 refresh, it's like the new car is running over puppies!)
Seems the phrase, "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" is lost on web addicts.

To be honest, I like the clutch in my 17 SS more than the one in my 16 C7. Smoother engagement, and feels more linear. Also, my C7 engaged too close to fully extended pedal.

Thanks, I appreciate you trying to actually give some helpful advise instead of telling me to get use to it. I mean that. Yes, I'm no stranger to building cars and fully intend to talk to a few clutch companies. I was on here looking for less invasive quick solutions from those who already own one.

So along those lines, does anyone know if the gen6 has the same style clutch return spring that the gen5 has? Here's a link to the gen5 spring. It's an old thread, but it seems that many people felt the same about that clutch when it came out that I do about the gen6. I've never driven a gen5, but I'll bet it's about the same feel.

There's a picture of the spring on page 2 of that thread.

I actually didnt mind the clutch untill I tried drag racing, it's very hard to release it correctly and not spin or have nannies kicking in. They say to release the clutch to right before it grabs, and it should be easier to control the clutch as there is no spring back before the clutch engagement, if that makes sense. I'm still working on it, heh, so used to my frs where I can just dump the clutch and go. Have to relearn now, since there is more power than traction. It's not a bad clutch at all, just different than others I've driven.

Off topic, thanks for demonstrating 4 things wrong with the world today.

1) Taking things out of context.
2) Not digesting all of the info before forming an opinion.
3) Hating on people with differing opinions.
4) Being needlessly douchey to strangers on the internet because you can.

Touche'.

Instead of going into the powertrain sub-forum and plainly asking if there are mechanical clutch conversions, your very first post went full-troll, being overly dramatic and blasted anyone that doesn't share you opinion, one that you even admit is so left-field that people you know think your car is broken. Your second post then proceeded to contradict your first post. Finally, you're complaining about the doucheyness being mirrored right back in your face.

So, you had a chance, but by doing pretty much everything wrong, you left yourself out to dry.

5) The sharp dip in reading comprehension skills.

Never asked about a mechanical clutch conversion.
Never blasted anybody. (except maybe you)
Not left field, many people share my thoughts on gen5/6 Camaro and late Corvette clutches. See the link I posted or do your own search.
Never contradicted myself. I have consistently stated that I feel the clutch is too light, non-linear and has too high a release point.

Have a nice day.
