Yes, first set of lights is first digit of version number. Second set of lights is second digit. So, 8 flashes followed by 6 flashes is version 8.6 which is the version you want.

Really interesting to know that last version of Range AFM disabler is working fine now. I had an older version and lots of issue with it. It is working 100% now for sure? Thanks

Bought my range device 3 days after owning my car. Now it's been plugged in non-stop for over 3 months with no CEL at all.
Recommend you buy it directly from the MFG as they offer warranties and they always have the latest firmware.

If you drive aggressive or in traffic, you wont see a difference because afm isn't turning on anyway.

If you drive mostly cruising on highways, then you will certainly notice a difference or you are lying. Cruising with afm is going to net you at the very least 5mpg. Certainly wouldn't be able to average +40mpg without it. 5mpg amounts to over a 15% difference.

It all depends on how much you're just sitting at a constant speed with nearly no throttle. If you're putting 10k miles + per year on the car, i'd really reconsider any solution that doesn't allow on-demand switching of it on and off so you can enable it for highway and disable it when the mood strikes.

I take the same route to work every day. to and from. afm got me 1-2 mpg tops. that is 36 miles with a half mile to and from the freeway, the rest being freeway.

I've take 2 trips on vacation to the same destination, one with afm, the other without. I got at most 2 more mpg with afm.

watching and logging numbers with and without doesn't get me anywhere close to 5 mpg more with afm, not even almost. my trips average 29-31 to and from work. the highest I ever saw was 33.1 with afm.

I've routinely seen much higher than that. Perhaps the v6's lower weight allows the 4cylinders to be far more effective than the v8's.

My record 50 mile is over 44mpg. But I've had many spans average over 40mpg with afm active. Inactive, it maxes in the mid 30's at best.

edit: and by lower weight, i'm also referring to the rotating weight of the internal engine components that are parasitic in v4 mode. The v6 just has less dead weight to deal with in v4 mode than the v8.
I have an ecu/tcm tune that lets me select if afm is allowed or not via a switch. btw.

makes sense for a v6. not only less cylinders, but smaller also. I too can switch between afm or not, however, due to reasons that have nothing to do with gas mileage, My car hasn't seen afm mode in roughly 8k
