Okay, thanks! That's good to know. I was using the older oil on my '17 ZL1 as per its manual. I have a leftover 12 quarts of Dexos 1 I'll use in my old Chevy truck now, I guess.

If your left over oil is 5-30 mobil 1, you can use it, just dont track the car on 5-30. Chevrolet states this info, the 0-40 esp dexos mobil 1 was developed so the track guys can run it all the time on the street and track the car , no track day oil change needed .

I just ordered 12 quarts for $101.22 after tax on Amazon. Last year it was $120ish for 12 quarts. So, it's come down some.

It is the ESP formula, so should be DEXOS 2.

It's the lowest price I've ever seen it, only $1.95 more than the std M1 0W40.

The JEGS listing says ESP FORMULA, but the picture is most certainly not ESP formula b/c there is no DEXOS logo on the bottle.

The two are easily confused... and I betcha the JEGS marketing folks screwed up the listing.


~$70 for 12 bottles is a great price if it's indeed the ESP Formula.

Well... this is the description copied and pasted from Jegs. I also do not see the DEXOS label, but it is ESP.

I just called JEGS...

They told me ESP formula 0w-40 is the same if it that's what it says on the label, but obviously can't tell me it's DEXOS2 certified.

It's possible M1 doesn't want to pay to put it on the label, so M1 ESP Formula may no longer be DEXOS2 certified.

However, if you look online there are at least THREE totally different labels on M1 ESP Formula 0w-40. One that looks like the JEGS bottles but has the DEXOS label and another that is totally different, but also has the DEXOS label. Then the JEGS one without the DEXOS label.

I am pretty sure they are all the same oil, that's what the guy at JEGs thinks, but for now that's just a guess. This is certainly confusing.
