Best Axle Back (Corsa NPP vs Flowmaster NPP)
I am in the market for a axle back and I am not sure which one to go with.
I really like both Corsa Extreme (NPP) and the Flowmaster American Thunder (NPP). I wanted to know if anyone here has heard the two in person? If so what are your thoughts? Just to let you know I will not being doing anything else to the exhaust besides the axle back system. |

I mean, you're going from bottom of the barrel to top of the line...
I have a Borla ATAK axleback on mine.

I heard the Borla ATAK and they sound great as well. There decent options out which makes it a little tough on deciding on a system. |

Lots of people have said the S-Type is deeper than the ATAK.

I get so many people that tell me they love the sound of my stock NPP and although I would like to "refine" it I will keeep my $ in the bank for a Corvette C8.

I have the Flowmaster NPP and it's pretty good. No real complaints and it was priced reasonable. It does have a significant difference in sound between open and closed. However I decided to order the Corsa NPP since CSP has/had priced a bit better. The Flowmaster has a super deep tone and sounds good but I have always liked Corsa sound. Had the NPP version been available when I first was in the market for exhaust, I would of likely went that route from the start.
Far as a review on the Corsa...well that is going to be a bit. I ordered it on December 9th and I am still awaiting shipment. Far as stock Npp. Yes I agree it sounds good, just a little on the quiet side for my taste. When you do any exhaust mods( cat deletes or headers) the stock suitcase muffler gets raspy sounding part throttle or I would have kept it.

I have a 2018 RS V6. If I go with the Flowmaster do I need to worry about codes getting thrown or check engine light?

Generally a well installed exhaust won’t throw codes.

I have a flowmaster npp exhaust and the quality is garbage. The screws came out of the npp valve plate and the plate got wedged back in the exhaust. Did a warranty claim last may and they were going to replace it, then just completely stopped answering my emails. Today I finally had enough of it and was able to free the plate and pull it out, realized there’s no way to get a new plate on there since it was bolted in from the muffler side then the muffler welded on. I finally got the full exhaust sound back but now the npp function is useless. I’ll never buy another flowmaster exhaust, so disappointed.

I'd have bought the Corsa if there was an NPP option when I purchased my Borla pipes. Quality stuff. Borla does sell the valved outside pipes separately and I do have those (long story) just in case they quit.
I like the tips better on the Corsa as well. Exhaust is personal and having had my share of cat back systems over the years, buy what you like but get quality stuff.

I have the flowmaster NPP and like it, no issues as well. If money weren't an issue I would go corsa NPP
