LOL, I think ultimately we won't be able to afford to gas up premium into these V8s.

In addition to including the charger plug, a front grill maintenance and repair kit would be useful...

EUV is pretty attractive but I still think the smaller Bolt looks too small and squatty. I'd drive an EUV as a daily though.

The EUV in the foreground makes it look bigger than the EV in the background. They are nearly identical in size. The photography makes the EUV look much larger than the EV, but it isn't really. |

I said it LOOKS too small and squatty. I'm fully aware of actual dimensions. |

So we have the Bolt, Lyric, Selestiq?, Hummer, and Silverado or Sierra EV, what comes after that? Are we sure GM can meet this 2035 goal? I don't see affordable or mass produced EV's, yet. It's mostly expensive, limited run CUVS, don't make enough of them, yet some automakers planning to phase out ICE by 2025? LOL.
That's a big gamble. They are investing big into these new RWD/AWD platforms and will charge premium prices for them. It will pay off later if consumers are willing to pay 45,000-100,000 for the new EV's. Hopefully consumers don't think they are getting a good deal for a 300 dollar payment for 7-8 years.... |

2035 is the target date for ICE vehicles to have manufacture discontinued (by gm, that is)... Unknown is how many ICE vehicles will be available up until 2035 by gm, what other manufacturers plan on doing, and how many of these 30 EV models will be available in the U.S. These are the dates and goals that I understand to be the case so far anyhow. I could be wrong or mistaken. But regardless, I do agree that what we have seen so far are way too expensive and not very reassuring for the dates that ICE production ends. If this Bolt is as low as they go price-wise, I think they need to spend more time at the drawing board. |

Oddly enough, I think it will be GM who will be the first to introduce truly economical options in the EV market. The Bolt seems to be one of the more affordable ones but the new EUV version can sticker for 40K plus. I like the interior on it and the super cruise option, although being fwd only and using the same batteries from the previous generation, would be nice had it been like 5K cheaper. |

This is the future of the automotive world. The UK has a mandate to end conventional fossil fuel vehicle sales by 2030, and only allowing zero-emission vehicles from 2035. With hope, the US will not follow suit that soon, but I speculate Kommie-ifornia has already made plans on this. My wife has a 2017 Bolt. It's OK as a commuter, is actually pretty quick, fair range, and practical, but it's difficult to live with such a passionless car that is difficult to love in cold weather (turning the heater on leaves you with MUCH less range).
