Brake Noise/Transmission question

Ok guys.. quick summary. I got my car about 1 month ago. I have not driven the car much, today was the second time. 2018 ZLE with 10K. I hear some drivetrain (i believe) noise when like releasing the clutch into gear at low speeds. I think this is normal. However, today i was stuck in bumper to bumper traffic for about 1 hour so this is the longest i have operated the car for.

First, i have read about the 2nd gear hard shifting but like mine is super hard to put into gear. It is like i have to force it and unless I feel 2 notches/clicks, the car is actually not in gear. I grinded that 2nd today do many times. I mean I am a great manual driver. The shift indicator will go into shift but unless I feel the 2 notches the car is not in gear and will not move. At this time, the tranny fluid temp was under 150F. It appears that ad it got higher towards 175F+, it got better. Two questions, does the 1 to 4 lockout influence this issue? I am planning to flush the tranny and did fluids. What fluid should I use? I would like to use Amsoil. But what type?

Now about 30 mins into the bumper to bumper traffic my brakes started to make a loud noise. Only in the front. Below are some videos from it. Do I need new pads? This was me coming to full stops at low speeds like barely tapping the brake pedal. Is this normal? The pads seem to be ok from looking at them. If I step firmly on the pedal and quickly let go, the noise would not happen.

And of course just cuz i really need to vent, i have a hard time driving up the driving into my house so i am scrapping the bottom of the splitter and the metal rails on the bottom of the splitter.. it pissed me off. I need to figure out an angle. I don't have an issue going down. Only going back up.. i thought the camaro would have better clearance than my C6...

Let me know what you guys think. I ha w been patiently waiting to drive the car and now I am disappointed

Brake Pads are likely from low speed use and some possible bedding needed but they are fine. If you get them hot for a cycle it will likely go away.

As far as the manual I feel like there is a “step” with 1/8 “ more travel at the end of the pedal and if I don’t use it when the car is cold it’s notchy and occasionally grinds. I think, “IMO” that it’s a clutch pedal adjustment variance. Some say it’s notchy, some say it’s smooth. I’m in the notchy camp.

I agree with weemus on both. For trans the trans issue, that's sounds mostly like a clutch issue. Could be not using the whole clutch, could be a bad bleed on the clutch pedal, or could even be damage from the previous owner. However, if you do still want to do a trans fluid flush, I'd recommend going with ACDelco OE fluid or the tremec fluid. I've not tried amsoil specifically, but a few other "highly recommended" fluids from here made my trans more notchy than it was on the original factory fill.

That's is crazy that low speed use would make the front end sound like an old clunker.. i didn't want to break because it was embarrassing but yeah I took her today for a canyon drive and man.. those brakes are amazing.. no noise at all .

I had no issues with the transmission today. Still notchy. Like there is that second slot that it needs to go into for second gear. Just weird. But normal for the Tremec. I have a similar issue with my C6 GS and when cold it is a bad second gear. Once warm, it is smooth.

I did realize that about the clutch it seems to be better if I just smashed the pedal all the way to the floor. I was thinking Amsoil because I am using that on my C6 GS and it really helped. That car also has a hard second gear when cold but then once it is warm, it slides no problem.

I probably ought to change all the fluids in the car beginning with the oil. Dealer changed the oil and filter but I have low confidence they use a quality oil. I can see the use a Champion filter. I have never heard of that brand.
