Side skirt question

I was at my local dealer discussing a potential SS 1LE I'm interested in. The topic we discussed was adding side skirts. Salesman said GM makes side skirts that fit and match the finish of the front splitter on the 1LE SS. I've noticed most members here have aftermarket ones. Does GM make their own side skirts for the car I'm interested in?? I know they make them for the regular SS and the ZL1. I left the dealership scratching my head.

Yes. This vehicle, owned by ChevyFan4Life, has the GM Accessories Second Generation Rocker Panel Moldings, which are exclusively available in satin black. Personally, I think they look better than any of the aftermarket offerings as well as the OEM ZL1 rocker panels.

Ok thanks. I presume the color is the same as the front splitter.

Quite a few members have installed ZL1/ZL1 1LE sideskirts on their SS or SS1LE. They come bare as far as I know, but can be painted to match the finish of the splitter. It would be very interesting if you got the dealer to paint and install them within the price of the vehicle... not confident it would happen though.

Do you know of a part number for these or anybody who is offering them aftermarket? Definitely going to be a Christmas gift to myself.

That's great. I prefer oem rather than painted aftermarket ones. The dealer would install these with the purchase of the car no questions asked

Side skirts, rock guards and PPF in front of the rear wheels (or more) are all great ideas imo.

I love my Second Gen GM side skirts. The look and finish match OEM 1LE front splitter perfectly.Just a different look then the ZL1 style.I might one day though go with some ZL1 side skirts. But for now these rock.

Have you any idea which rock guards will fit with your side skirts? Your car looks great. Id go with the same set up when I get my 1LE this spring. Thanks for the link to your pics as well
