It appears GM may have taken into account the use of 19" wheels with the 1LE, and/or giving more room for more negative camber

That's a "normal" amount of engagement with similar materials (steel stud, steel lugs) - M14mm stud and at least 14mm engagement. Depending on wheel mounting flange thickness, you may have more or less than stock engagement.

I marked a lug nut and got right at 10 full rotations to full torque after initial thread engaged fully. I also used a paint marker on a stud and got the same measurement.

If someone has different info on "normal" amount of engagement, post it up.
Hey, have at it. Mechanically speaking any more than one turn is 'fully engaged', right?

Interesting, for some reason my calculations are different

20x10 +20 mm
by going 19x10 +25mm it should move it 5mm closer to the suspension
and 19x10.5 +22mm should move it 2mm + the 6mm (offset difference divided by 2) which would make it 8mm total. And with the 3mm spacer it should offset that difference

Although it's the ideal offset for the stock 305 size, it's not ideal for those who want to go with wider tires in future (like 325s). The ideal offset IMO, would be something like +30-35mm so it would compensate the extra rubber, in my example it will poke out a bit (18mm) but it's manageable with 305 tires. For the 325 however, I will most likely need some sort of fender flare like C7 Z06

If that's the case longer studs in the front might be a good option. I will look into that

Im happy to help if you need some direction on them. That was my ultimate goal when I installed them but I can't find the right wheel in 19" that I like. I'm glued to this thread and wish you the best of luck Glamcem.

Thanks I think I've seen your post before. I was thinking the same thing before even I got this car then I saw the post and made sure it can be done Ever considered doing the same for the rears? I might try doing that when I am ready to switch to 325s (after the Trofeo Rs)

I'd like to do the rears but I need to find the right wheel/tire set up. I'm like most of us in this forum hoping to find clarity on the square vs. staggered setup. I'd like to run 305's all the way around (hence the fender ext.) but I know it'll take finesse on the offset. I'm waiting to see if you make it work!

UPDATE: I had a chance to testfit the wheels after the track alignment (-2.2 camber up front) and it was almost touching with 3mm spacer. I then tried to use the 5mm spacer and it looks like it's going work. The camber bolt portion is not touching but a bit close for my taste so I will have my mechanic grind those areas and if I can get about 2-3mm additional clearance by doing that it will be fine for me I will also use longer studs with Gorilla lug nuts even many people use 5mm spacers without any other modifications.

IMPORTANT: Please use these at your own risk as YMMV

Hard to show in this picture but clearance is very tight it looks like it's touching but it's just the angle of the light:

These are the areas that I am planning to have trimmed/grinned

Might go about this setup myself... I don't mind a little grind (but no bumps lol)
