Hey all, wanted to leave my review so far of Mike’s PTB. I had a TM ported TB on my car for about 1000 miles before trying the Soler TB. Because of this Mike recommended trying his LT4 TB to see if any CELs would pop up as ported LT4 TBs can do this as they are ported more aggressively. I only have approx. 200 miles (she’s my DD so stop and go, highway and the occasional full boogie rip) on the Soler TB but so far there are no CELs. Cold starts had a bit of surging initially with RPM going from 1100 or so down to 700, back to 1100 then back to normal. This is gone now as the ECM continues to learn, per Mike I didn’t unplug the battery when installing, he suggested starting/shutting off the engine a few times then driving normally. Since I already had a ported TB installed, he felt an ECM re-learn wasn’t necessary. Engine braking is reduced, which isn’t a surprise, not a big deal but it is noticeable. What is noticeable is the difference accelerating from a stop, the car just feels lighter, more willing to get out of it’s own way and not stumble on its face. Now, there was a big difference going from stock to the TM TB so I didn’t think there would be much of a change with Soler TB but after reading reviews from the Vette guys I wanted to give it a shot. Glad I did, the car is so much more fun to drive now. I’ve had to adjust my driving style a bit as I will sometimes rev higher than where I want to be since I’m anticipating the hesitation/bog I had before. I’m not saying it was bad with the Mamo TB but it was there, it is still there with the Soler TB but has been reduced even more. A tune/PTB would get rid of it completely I’m sure but I can always swap my stock TB back if I need warranty work, I don’t want to risk a tune right now. All in all, even if you already have a ported TB I say give Soler a shot, I can’t imagine you’ll be disappointed. Mike has been great to work with, quickly responds to any questions before and after the sale. I’ll continue to monitor drivability and report back if there are any changes, so far I couldn’t be happier. The only gripe I have is I wish Mike had come out with his TBs before I bought my TM. lol

Soler Performance TB Installed
I just wanted to follow-up on the purchase and installation of my Soler Performance TB for my 2018 Camaro SS 1LE. I got everything installed and did the complete relearn process. If you follow everything step by step it is very simple. The clip connector is difficult to remove but I used a flat tip screw driver and worked it loose, be careful not to push to hard, as you saw on the forum they break pretty easy.
I went through the relearn process starting Thursday night by disconnecting the neg battery terminal. Friday morning I replace the TB and started the step by step process. I use my car as a dd and drive about 60 miles round trip to work and home. I agree with most that you can tell the difference in throttle response and consistent acceleration. I am very happy with the results and highly recommend what Mike and his company is doing to better our Camaros! |

Mike, let me ask the most hated question of "when" or "approximately when" No urgency or dissatisfaction on my part, I understand how busy you are with this newfound interest in particular, just curiosity. Thank you in advance.

Z28pat, I have not had any issues with rev match. I turn it on nearly every time I drive my car.

Rev match is GTG here as well. Not sure why people are having trouble with the plugs on these, GM has a lock (gray/red) that you slide away from the component it's connected to then you can release the connector normally. There is plenty of slack in the harness so you can remove the TB and flip it over to get a better view.

Ordered mine last night, was in the market anyways so I figured I might as well get one now. Rotofab intake on the way as well, should be a good combo.

LT5 TB's will throw a code and stumble, I've experienced this with both a stock and ported LT5 TB. My '18 1LE is cammed, ARH LT, MSD Atomic intake, AirAid CAI and tuned. According to my tuner the electronics in the LT5 TB don't speak "nice" with the ECM, it would be nice if it did work on the LT1. I have a Katech ported TB with no problems but I see a Soler in my future. Great if an LT5 TB can be made to work.

After the TM TB the car was much more fun to drive as I wasn't always wondering if the car was going to roll or buck and I often overcompensated by over revving or slipping the clutch. The Soler piece seems to refine on that more, as someone said in a previous post the car seems lighter. That said I could happily live with either, seeing as I have both I'm keeping the Soler. |

Finally did the install this afternoon...
I actually received the Soler TB last week, the day before we left for a long weekend in Pennsylvania for a family reunion. (Great time, but was thinking about getting the install done the whole time!) Anyway, BIG thanks to VidKidZ for his hints/hacks on making an easy install even easier. Getting all the bolts out then rotating the stock TB made it very easy to remove the cable. (Pull the grey locking tab, then gently wiggle it off. Then cable onto the Soler first. No prob.). Then pre-threading the bottom right bolt first made the install of the Soler TB super quick. So now it sits in my carport with the negative cable disconnected and the trunk resting closed but unlatched... Cannot wait to take my little one to her summer day camp in the morning!
