Clutch warantee

I assume the clutch is classified as a wear item and not covered under warranty?

I assume if it is defective they replace it but what if it is because of wear?
I launched the car in comp mode at 4k feathering the clutch and it flew like a bat out of hell!
However the car is in my garage and I can smell the clutch. Not sure if the smell is on my clothes or if it is actually coming in from the garage but either way doing that every once in a while is definitely going to lessen the life of the clutch.
If it is covered under warranty I may use that method on special occasions, if not that is the last time.

How long should the clutch last?

That depends, how many more of those launches you have planned?

It really depends on how you drive it. Assuming your are easy on it and don't ride the clutch then probably 100k miles but if you abuse it then you could get anywhere from 30-50k miles. It is like asking how long do brake pads last. It depends.

Spoke with my dealer regarding this as well. They mentioned that if you have problems under 12k miles, they should replace it.. But they also mentioned that if it's been abused, not defects from factory then it won't be covered.

Not too sure how can they determine if it's been abused or a defect since I'm not a clutch expert.

I know it isn't a set answer, I should have been more specific.

Thank you for the info
Ill do it one more time to see if it is actually faster than 0-60 or if the risk and noise makes it feel faster. After that I'll stick to my normal launches.

Separate question:
How much does it cost to replace a clutch with parts, labor etc? Around a grand sound right?

The dealer has to replace my clutch pedal assembly. There is a clicking noise about an inch into the pedal travel and also when it reaches the floor. No reason why, just said it had to be replaced. Really hoping they don't have to remove the dash.

Sounds about right. The oem parts are usually around 400-500 plus labor.

It is the having no mufflers at 4k rpm that makes it seem faster. I tried launch control again and best I could do is 4.2, I'm definitely faster doing my own launch.
