Nonsense

The stuff on the 1LE with the exception of the suspension upgrades is Imo a bunch of nonsense (no offense to those that like it intended). Does anyone know when or if GM intends on offering the performance aspects of the car like they did for the fifth gen?
I assume the ediff is something that will not be offered :(

So what do you think is nonsense? The NPP, Recaros, HUD? Those are the only things I can think of that don't directly improve performance.

Even the seats kinda do. I can concentrate way more on driving if I'm not sliding all over the seat using the steering wheel as leverage to keep me in place.

Yeah....what's nonsense?

Not sure I follow. The E-Diff is included on the SS 1LE. Are you asking if it will be offered separately as an option for non-1LE cars?

The 1LE is a track package...suspension enhancements including MRC, E-Diff, 6-piston front brakes, wider wheels, wider track focused tires, seats and some cosmetics stuff. All beneficial if you track the car. If not, spend the money on 2SS goodies.

Track oriented MRC = not nonsense
Upgraded wheel sizes and goodyear tires = not nonsense
Front splitter and rear spoiler = not nonsense
bigger brakes = not nonsense
recaros = not nonsense
HUD (being able to read your speed without taking your eyes off the track) = not nonsense
e diff = not nonsense
NPP.....ok I'll give you that one.

4 of the things listed have to do with suspension lol. I dont understand his post.

The only "nonsense" is the HUD, recaros, splitter and spoiler, and NPP.

He mentioned that the e-diff wasnt included in the "nonsense"

But like you said, even the "nonsense" items can be beneficiary for a track pack.

I don't follow, how are four of the things listed all included under suspension? Im just wondering what they are and how they fall into the same category in your mind.
Also, as stated above, if the Recaro's keep you planted in the seat, that is a performance upgrade.
If the front splitter and rear spoiler do add downforce at track speed (obviously not talking an AutoX course), then they are a performance upgrade. Which, GM has taken their aero parts very seriously over the past 5-6 years.... maybe slightly further back if you include the Ron Fellows Edition C6 Z06.
The NPP was found to give a HP upgrade on the Stingray (5hp over standard), I don't think GM rates it that way with the Camaro, but if it opens for more flow (not just sound), then that is also a performance upgrade. Yes I know its already available AS AN OPTION on the SS, but it is STANDARD on the 1LE. The only part I wouldn't consider it being an upgrade is weight. I don't know official weight numbers of having the NPP muffler, flap motors, wiring and possible control unit on the vehicle vs say just the Chevrolet Performance Parts Mufflers. But I would think the CPP mufflers would weigh fair amount less. So maybe in that regard, the NPP HP gain vs weight is just a wash?

The splitter and spoiler actually make down force so I don't see how they could be seen as nonsense.

I think of wheels, brakes etc under the same category. I know they are technically not.
