Cleaning the white residue off of Brembos.....how?

So what is the latest on how to clean this white stuff off of the stock black Brembos. I've tried all kinds of soap. Also tried that stuff you use to get brake dust off of wheels. Nothing seems to work.

I'm also curious if there is a way to remove the white residue. I have also tried thoroughly washing and scrubbing them. I feel like the only solution is to either paint over them or get them powder coated. or buy new calipers but thats probably not worth the cost.

pictures? you need to be careful with cleaners on those calipers. the paint on them is pretty soft and if prone to fade & discoloration when a wheel cleaner hits them, especially when hot. it could very well be permanent. G2 caliper paint will fix it.

That is what I did 1.5 years and 10K miles ago. The calipers look as good as the day I painted them. I get nice comments on them since I went with blue to match up to Hyper Blue.

OP I too had the discoloration starting on the calipers and that is a reason I painted them besides the cosmetic change.

I plan on eventually getting them powdercoated. But I would like them cleaned up for now, they stand out like a sore thumb on an all black car.

I used some european wheel spray with iron remover and it did jack squat for them. I'm not sure there's something that will clean them. Quite irritating as it started on day 2 of ownership.

The problem is that they are not clear coated and whatever they are painted with is porous. I think an angle grinder should do the trick

If you're going to powder coat them, I try some solVents that are a bit aggressive, but still really wont hurt the paint. wipe down with acetone and or paint thinner might do it. Even CLR.....
