HOLD THE BUS! TR3160 in the LT1?

I'm doing some advanced shopping for my Coronaro (if it ever shows up)
and I'm seeing the LT1 comes with the TR3160 vs the TR6060 in the SS.

Has anyone with a LT1 bought a Hurst shifter yet and noticed this?

Or just crawled under to verify?

EDIT: Just found this on Hurst's website:

The Heritage of Hurst® is back with the latest version of the Billet/Plus® short throw shifter for all 2016-2020 Chevrolet Camaro LS, LT with 2.0L, 3.6L and LT1 6.2L engines with a TR3160 6-speed manual transmission.

Must reuse factory shift knob, no shifter knob included. Designed for use with TR3160 6-speed manual transmission. TR3160 6-speed manual transmissions can be identified by Reverse gear being located in the upper LEFT side of the shift pattern (left of 1st gear.)

The Fleet Order Guide shows the LT1 and SS models have active rev matching. That isn't available with the T4 and V6 manual transmission. That leads me to believe that the LT1 gets the TR6060.

I doubt GM would validate a different transmission for the LT1.. there's no way. They already have EIGHT powertrain combinations as it is (2.0 A/M, 3.6 A/M, 6.2 A/M 6.2SC A/M). I would bet my paycheck that it uses the TR6060!

Tremec's application data says the 3160 is only rated for 310FtLbs

There is no way they are going to put it behind a 450FtLb engine and warranty it

Listen Slick... can I give you a word of advice?

When you wish to publicly belittle someone in order to show your superiority, one should use the correct spelling so as to drive the point home.

For example, dumb ass, there is a b after the "dum".
Further, dumbass, what is "mxing", "eninge" and "agaiin"?

Do you not know how the f#%$ to spell or use grammar? Have you ever considered hiring a professional to do your thinking?

Now, back to the subject:

Did you even read my post in it's entirety?

I'm not the one who made this S#$% up after waking up from a dream.
HURST has it on THEIR website. I will repost it since you're not grasping it:

"The Heritage of Hurst® is back with the latest version of the Billet/Plus® short throw shifter for all 2016-2020 Chevrolet Camaro LS, LT with 2.0L, 3.6L and LT1 6.2L engines with a TR3160 6-speed manual transmission."

That rating depends on gearing and vehicle weight.

Ford has been using a 3160 in the GT350 since '15.

I'd take that bet!

I don't know 100%, but I'm thinking that the 6060 has the internal pump and the LT1 has no place to pump the fluid to since the manual tranny cooler is deleted.

That is the ONLY explanation I can think of. I need to have someone with an M6 LT1 post a pic of their shift knob pattern OR confirm where reverse is.

The 3160 reverse gate is left and up from first.
The 6060 reverse gate is right and up from fifth.

Reverse is up and to the right. I'm 99.999% certain it has the TR6060.

dude chill.

its spelled CAMARO. and believe it or not it's a completely made up name. not a mashup.

the 3160 - IS ONLY AVAILABLE ON THE 2T and V6. PERIOD.

yes it can support the GT due to the gearing. Or you bust the driven counter shaft. OK? Its still too light for the LT1 ENGINE.

LT1 is also a TRIM package for the 2T Sub model.

EDIT I STAND CORRECTED 1LT. And that drives everyone crazy.....

Phew, this thread scared me for a few minutes. I definitely want the TR6060 behind my LT1 motor. If not it would have been a deal breaker. I have had 3 of them before my LT1 and raced them all. Rock solid. Now as to clutches, ARRRGGGHHH!

Will Atco reopen? If not it will be a big disappoinment. But the pandemic helps me understand what is really important. At least my Camaro is a fun diversion to occasionally .

Where is your reverse gate? On the left or right?

Convertible SS models don’t have the trans and diff coolers either.
