Anyone know how to turn off the wireless charging pad in a 2018 ZL1?

I don't see anything in the manual or on the site.
Thanks in advance for any help.

probably a fuse for it, but you could always unplug the harness from the pad

If not in the manual hit up Ofer @ Gen5DIY and see if he can tell you.

Mine hasn't worked from day 1! Wouldn't use it anyway so it just sits there.

You could try pulling F33 in the rear fuse block. That is the retained accessory power fuse.
Otherwise I think you need to pull the center console and disconnect the wireless charging module.
You may get error codes either way if the BCM does not see the module.

Why do you want to turn it off?

Can one simply remove it and maybe reclaim it for some small storage?

Useless for as I have an iPhone and to use CarPlay you have to be plugged in anyway.

The unit is mounted underneath the rear console extension. You would have to cut a hole the console piece and then create some sort of lid to access the space. the molded rubber charging pad is not designed for frequent removal. You would also need to fashion a bin under the new opening to keep items from falling down the sides of the console.
Not sure what would be good to store there. it would be good for few CD's, I suppose, but without a CD player...

I would start by pulling the fuse and see if you get error codes. From what I read in the service manual you will get error codes if this unit is not functioning properly. perhaps the module could be deleted from the car with a Tech2.

Thanks for replies. Asking because I'm concerned about having someone with a pacemaker/defibrillator in the car while it's active.

Is that a hunch, or is there an actual established risk of the Charger interfering with the device? Seems like that would be a pretty big risk for car manufacturers to include in Cars if so.

Unless they are trying to lay down on it with full pressure pressed down for a couple days I would say you have nothing to worry about.

There is note in the manual something to the effect of "consult your Dr before going in the car". This may just be a CYA note for Chevy but I thought the easiest thing to do would be to simply disable the option. If that is not practical, I'll consult with my fathers Dr. Thanks.

This is a non-issue for such a low current device.
