What offset to run 19s on my SS

Looking at a set of 19’ wheels and was curious about what offsets I’d need to fit them on my car? I know to fit 20s it’s around 23 front 48 rear but is it the same for 19s? Or is it different?

The ZL1 1LE is stock with 19" wheels. I would just follow those for guidance. Its around what you have above if I remember right.

Need more details - what width are your wheels? SS or ZL1? I'm running 19x10 +20 all around.

I have these available - I ran them on a 2017 SS - you can see I had +23 and +44 to fit the desired rubber.

4 NEW Toyo Proxes R888R
2 - 305/30ZR19 (rear) tires
2 - 285/35R19 (front) tires

4 used Project 6GR 7 spoke satin black rims
2 - 19x10+23MM
2 - 19x11+43MM
TPMS sensors are installed on all wheels (another $150)

The wheels were on a 2017 Chevy Camaro and had 3 track days with great results. They were unmounted, physically inspected and new tires were mounted and balanced ready to run again! The car was sold prior to using this new set of tires.

The 19" looks great on the car and will lower the car approx 1/2".

The tires provide excellent dry weather grip on the street or the track/autocross.

Do you have any photos of your wheels?

The diameter of the wheel doesn't generally change the offset requirements. Width kind of does. However, for our cars (except arguable for a ZL1 1LE), 20mm front and 43mm rear (i.e. the SS 1LE fitment) will work fine up to 10 front width and 11" rear.

This may sound like a stupid question but since our offsets our +20 and +43 would we able to run say a +25 and a +45 or no? Just a bit confused on how offsets works

Offset is a simple concept: take the centerline of your wheel's width and then measure how much further outboard the wheel's mounting surface is from that. If you have zero offset, then the mounting surface is in the same plane as that centerline. Positive offset means the wheel sits inboard of that mounting and negative offset would mean the wheel pokes outboard of that.

So to answer you question, a wheel with 25mm offset would sit 5mm further inboard than the stock SS 1LE wheel with 20mm offset, and a wheel with 45mm would sit 2mm further inboard than the stock wheel with 43mm offset. So the fitment question depends on whether the wheel or tire will rub on anything on the inboard side. If you are looking at using the same wheel and tire widths (10"/11" and 285/305) then you would like not have any clearance issues in back but you might rub on the strut spring mount up front.

Would I be able to run a +32 offset all around?

At 19x10 up front, you would surely require spacers to keep from rubbing the spring perch and maybe other things. I'd expect to need 10mm spacers to make that work, and that means you'll need longer front wheel studs. You might - might - be able to get away with 19x11s and 32mm in back, depending on tire size. They'd be coming fairly close to poking out. However, I am able to run 19x11 with 37mm and a 315/30/19 tire (which is shorter than the stock SS 1LE tire) without any poke or rubbing, so 32mm in back might be possible, especially with a 305/30/19 tire size.
