New "feature" on 2020, or is something wrong?
2020 SS 1LE here, just breaking her in and something seems different/odd vs my previous 17:
When i lock the steering in Touring on Infotainment, it stays soft in all drive modes EXCEPT when i enter PTM then it reverts to what feels like a Track setting: quite heavy. Anyone knows if this is a new feature? If not, any ideas why or what could be causing it? Welcome any feedback. Thanks! |

Mine stays in sport setting no matter what.
Make sure your lug nuts are tightened to 140 ft-lb. My steering got really heavy in higher speed corners when my wheels were ~20 ft-lb low. |

Thanks for your feedback. My steering is light as it should be in all modes except when PTM is engaged. Very weird. Will double check the lug nuts. Cheers!

So...i suspect GM has changed something about the steering. Touring seems to have more assist than my 17.
However, under PTM the steering gets stiffer, but not nearly as much as in Track setting on my 17. It actually provides pretty good feedback. Interestingly, in the manual they say, that in Track the steering has LESS ASSIST to provide better feedback. This would be different from before, when Track had a heavy weight and actually mask the feel of the tires. Anyhow, that's what i suspect now. Cheers! |
