My Samsung S10e fits on the charging pad and even wiggles around a bit. Modern enough phone for me. (Okay, I did trim the rubber very slightly for larger phones, but this one would fit on the stock pad, too.) Not the best design ever presented, sure, but it's usable.

When the phone needs no charging, it slides into one of my $5 "supercar nets"

There are similar, but longer ones if you need ones for even larger phones.

Also, I removed the included double-sided tape (a joke) and attached them to the carpeting with smaller, strong velcro pads. No adhesion problems at all.

I would happily purchase an adapter mount if someone makes one.

I've been saying for a long time that GM and other companies should just have a blank bracket where the head unit is, and let users snap their phones/tablets in place. GM can have users download an app that will let them change settings, and if a user would prefer they can use a dealership included basic cell phone/tablet that the user can use for basic settings changes. Granted, this would put a lot of people that make the currently outdated head-units out of a job, and most car companies don't really care about innovating.

I was about to say, that can't be a "normal" sized phone. The S22 that just came out doesn't even fit anymore. I also have an Ultra, and that thing covers most of the base, and doesn't charge since it doesn't make contact with the charging area, and yes during spirited driving it'll fall into the backseat.

Not trying to start a whole different discussion, but the S10/S10e is plenty "normal" to me. Fast, usable, does everything, has Android 12 (just recently upgraded itself), battery holds for over a day, works fine with AAWireless. Newer phones add absolutely nothing to the mix but a 4-digit price tag.

Oh, and it fits the charging pad in my Camaro, too

Agree 100% that it is useless. I have an iPhone XR which is hardly a big phone and it doesn’t fit. I’m surprised that no company makes a replacement for it.

I kept my S10+ for almost 3 years, but AT&T offered me $800 off to upgrade. I have to be honest though, out of sheer boredom one day I shined a blacklight on the screen of my S10+ and noticed that there was a large grey area that covered the entire screen. I did the same to my S22 Ultra and there was a much smaller grey coverage (about 2/3rds of the screen). I can't help wonder if the reason AT&T gave me so much for my trade-in was so that they could strip the materials from my old device because of supply chain issues. Going from my S10+ to the S22 Ultra, I didn't notice much improvement in performance. I'd say that phone manufacturers haven't been able to make many great improvements over the past few years.

This morning I needed access to a file on a thumb drive but didn't have access to my laptop. No problem for my Android. I just plugged in a USB-C adapter and plugged in the thumb drive. There's no way I could do that on an iPhone.

And for whatever reason, a lot of people think that Apple's hardware is superior. As someone that once worked for Apple and had to take apart a few Macs, the hardware is sourced by pretty much the same vendors, but people think the hardware is superior not knowing that it doesn't have as many issues because the OS is so locked down. And then there's this meme which also applies to iOS....

Oh and we drive Camaros, do we really care about resale value?

I also purchased the net option, one for driver side and one for passenger side. They work great. I added additional 3m double side tape to them and then added the Velcro strips for added staying power. The one other modification I made was to add Gorilla glue to the 2 plastic pieces that sandwich the netting. I found that the pieces would gap and cause the netting to slip off their pegs. Gluing the two pieces together solved that problem. Definitely worth the effort. Got everything from Amazon.

I did what arpad did. I use the wireless charging plate. I cut the short edges and my Galaxy S22 fits and charges perfectly even with the case on and even wiggles around a bit. Now I am looking forward to receiving and using the Wireless Android Auto device!

I also bought one if these little magnets and stuck it on the side of the center console, so sometimes I simply drop the phone there. The magnet is strong and the phone stays in place with no issues at all.

By the way, the S10e is probably the best phone I ever owned in terms of size and performance. Especially the size is ideal for a mobile phone. Recently I switched to the S22, which is a great phone as well, but tbh I don't notice any significant improvement over the S10e.

I traded in my S9 for my S21. Have had my S21 for 1.5 years. Still to this day wish I had my S9. I think that was the perfect phone for me. It also fit in the charging pad in the Camaro.

I use one of these. If it needs charging, I put it on the charger.
