I don't think I feel too awesome about having to cut up my trunk liner but I guess these cars are numerous enough that you could find one if you were to sell it.

I feel like the price is pretty decent considering that Crutchfield wants $650 for just the sub (yeah I know you could find it for cheaper) you are paying $250 for a custom-fit box which is a nice option.

This is just my opinion guys but if you look at the options available from a place commonly known as sub of thump, they have enclosures (for 2 10's or 2 12's) for gen 6 camaro's that are designed to fit snug up against the back of the passenger seat and take up little enough space that you can still get to the spare tire area and your battery in the trunk and require no modification of the car directly. (although optionally you may want to fabricate some method of securing them)

These are sealed enclosures, and the way to "get it right" is pretty simple.
1) look at the cubic ft / sub rating for the enclosure, and find a sub you like with the manufacturer listed spec for optimum space in a sealed enclosure that matches that
2)find an amp that will power the subs
3) profit

This does limit your choice in subs however if you want it to sound the best, so you can take the route im going and just get a shop to build you a custom box that occupies the same space and concept as the ones on sub of thump.

Prices:
Sub of thump - $280 for the nice rear firing box with vinyl stitched front
Local Shop - $400-450 for custom fabricated rear firing box with vinyl stitched (or whatever fabric i want) front that is designed to perfectly match the subs I choose.

When you look at the cost of the JL audio stealthbox. You are pretty much paying the same price that it would cost to custom fabricate the enclosure once you subtract the cost of the sub. I am not disagreeing that it is well built though and will sound great, I would just rather not cut out my trunk liner, and I would prefer 2 10's over 1 12.

Edit : by passenger seat I mean rear seat lol

Very good solution, that corner is the way to go. But come on, $765 for the 400W subwoofer and $900 for the 600W, is way overpriced!

Mindless bitching in 3...2...1...

900$ msrp for an unpowered enclosure & sub that can be done separately for 300$? No thanks. For that price point, it should include a 200x1 internal marine amp and a plug'n'play harness to the factory amp that is 18" away.

Plus, is there a reason it couldn't be done on the passenger side? I don't want more weight on the driver side of the vehicle.

Yes because the passenger side is where your battery is lol

To be fair, the prices for just the naked subs are $350 and $650.

I dont know where you are getting those numbers, a quick google search shows the 12w3v3 for around $290 and the 12w6v6 for around $500 from reputable sellers.

This again, going back to what I already posted... makes the JL audio stealthbox basically the same price as having a local guy custom fabricate a nice enclosure designed specifically to form fit your car, with no modification of your trunk liner.

If you do want to cut a hole in the inside of your trunk liner that can never go back to stock, and are happy with a single 12" (albeit great woofer if you get the 12w6v6) then this is a good option that I think is worth what you spend.

I have to agree. I have run JL subs for many years. Great products. I have them in three vehicles now. The smaller stealthboxes are really good. The larger ones are too thinwalled though. I had to reinforce the one in my 370z.

JL had a ridiculous stealthbox for the 5th gen convertible. I am hoping for something equally ridiculous for the 6th.

My 'numbers' come right from jlaudio.com and are the MSRP for the naked drivers.

It also helps if you use the correct model of sub you are searching for.

The SB-GM-CAM6G/12TW3 uses a 12TW3 sub with a MSRP of $350 and not a 12W3V3.

The SB-GM-CAM6G/12W6v3 uses a 12W6V3 sub with a MSRP of $650.

I'm not sure where you found the price for a 12W6V6 as the 12W6V3 is the current model. Do you have a time machine?!?

Why are you so worried about the trunk liner? It's just a piece of molded carpet that is cheap and easy to replace if it becomes damaged or you want to go back to stock?!?

Snarky? Maybe, but tell me again how much a JL 12W6V6 cost

I posted MSRP prices and your prices are from a 3rd party on Amazon, no shit they are cheaper.

BTW, good job using Google, I hear all the kids are using it now
