Nice looking shifter. Thanks for taking the plunge for us. Might have to put that on my wish list.

Looks cool!
If it's aluminum, it'll get really hot in the summer... steel will get frostbite cold in the winter. I had a solid steel knob on my previous car and had to unscrew it and take it with me wherever I went during winter months, or my hand ran the danger of freezing and falling off with each shift.

I had the shifter installed and it faced the AZ heat. It wasn't an issue. Not to mention the AC blows directly on it.

Hurst Shifters made a name for themselves in the 60s and 70s for manual shifters becauase they used stops at the end of each shift that would keep you from putting a hard shift into the dash board or your lap. Most stock shifters then had no stops and would wear out under hard shifting over time because of the constant banging in the linkage. Not sure if todays modern manual cars have stops now. They probably do in the SS and higher models.

The coolest shifters of all time were old Dodge and Plymouth factory stock Pistol grip manual shifters. And all the other old shifters with the long angled back bent rods coming out of the floor or console were also cool looking. Today short stem shifters are more comfortable, feel and shift better but don't look as cool.
