Headers gain?

I currently have intake and e85 tune. Planning on doing LT headers and a retune. How much HP should I expect to gain? What brand header do you guys recommend?

I picked up 20 hp with kooks headers and cats. I think most brands will yield similar gains, but fitment and quality will be worse with cheaper headers.

You will probably see 10-20 from the headers and another 5-10 from the tune changes. Some of it depends on the brand and size of the headers and if you are going catted or catless.

20 whp? That's more than I thought. Yes currently have all 4 cats so if I do the headers I'll get rid of all 4

Thats about right. 700$ tsp, 22 gain. Cheaper then the rest for same results. Thicker steel to. But mods don't do nothing without a good tuner.

This could be BS, I don't think he told me this due to a financial sponsorship related to TS, but Jeremy Formato told me TS 2inchers make more power in his testing than American Racing, I believe he stated the primaries were longer. Both Jeremy and Pray recommend 2inch headers btw.

Get high flow cats. Catless stinks. Its worth less hp then the acuracy of the dyno 2hp

I'm sure this is conditional on things such as primary tube size but I'm curious if anyone noticed a loss of torque at lower RPM's and less than 100% throttle. (ie...25-50%) Put headers on my 5.0 and it did effect the lower engine speed/part throttle engine response/torque. I know that is a completely different engine but I'm just curious how the LT1 responds. I dont recall my LS2 losing anything at low engine speed. OP, I hope this isn't a hijack Hopefully its useful information.

Agreed, I went catless because I wanted a bit more sound. Wish I would have gone catted. If I could find a pair of TSP cats for sale, I'd probable buy them.

That 2hp difference is not a constant for everyone and all setups.

It absolutely is. When can debate what enough of a difference is all day, but the fastest builds out there are by and large not catted, and you won't have to worry about clogging or burning them.
