Vibration when driving

Hey all. I have a vibration when I start accelerating on the highway. I have managed to replicate it pretty consistently while driving. At highway speed if I'm cruising and let it drift into v4 mode and then accelerate out slowly I get a vibration for a few seconds. Ive been able to hold it vibrating and I think its happening during the transition from v4 to v6. Tried same think in manual mode and no vibration. Starting to happen more often (or I've become aware of it now) even at lower speeds. Sometimes minor sometime major vibration. Any one else have this issue? Or is it just normal function for the car? (2018 A8 V6)

The AFM vibration is fairly normal on these cars, but so is the A8 shudder. If you have the shudder issue there is a service bulliten for it. It seems to be working pretty well so far

That bulletin is 18-NA-355. Have the dealer perform it, they should no longer require any validation beyond the customer complaint.

Yeah, look at the date cutoff point in the pic above. A8 2019's manufactured after that date received the new fluid that apparently mitigates the issue enough for it not to return---unless the torque converter is already damaged beyond saving, in which case it's another trip, a converter replacement, and then the trans should be good to go.

Well I'll be honest... I noticed this issue when I first got the car. I was told it was "normal" when I asked the service guy about it. I have driven in excess of 40,000kms since then... only recently it got much worse. The chances of my TC being damaged IMO are quite high. Trying to get an appointment with a dealership now... hopefully I just need a fluid change and that solves the issue (if its the shudder and not something else)

Checked in with Chevrolet today. Got told everything was normal, no check engine codes so they cant do anything further. Also got told as a tip to not drive it in sport mode as sport mode changes how gear are shifted which might be causing my problem. Chevrolet your "service professionals"

It'd make a great joke if it weren't your car, eh... any chance you can visit another dealer and simply tell them to do the flush, as per the TSB? It specifically says no validation is required beyond the customer complaint.

Mhm... running out of dealerships. Nurse Chevrolet-"Don't drive in sport mode" Ontario Motor Sales- still by far the worst service experience of my life Humberview Chevrolet- "We will damage your car for free every-time" I'll either go back to Nurse or find another one tomorrow and give them the TSB. If I do it now I might end up yelling at one of them which might see some unwanted damage to my car. Alternative is to buy a range AFM disabler and trade in for the 10-speed next year. I do appreciate the feedback.

ask to talk to shane the service manager, tell him you have a shudder like driving over a shoulder rumble strip and he should hook you up..thats all i did told him it was like driving over a rumble strip and he had the tranny oil flush done right away, without doing any kind of test on the car
