Ethanol free 93

Has anyone tried it? and if you have how did your ZLE perform? I have access to it in my neck of the woods.

I would rather have 10% ethanol 93 for the added cooling effect.

I doubt any change. I tried it on my 2017 SS and zero difference. Hell I put 87 octane in on a road trip and my mpg was no different.

The ZL-1 loves Octane. 25 hp going from 93 to 100. Don’t worry about ethanol. Increase octane for HP.

I wouldn't spend more for 93 with 0% ethanol. Top Tier 10% works just fine.

There’s 0 gains going from 93 to 100 unless your timing was increased. Octane alone doesn’t create more power , octane +timing does because it’s more resistant to knock.

If your max Timing is 20 degrees it doesn’t magically increase itself for 100 octane.

ECT,IAT,MAT = yes

'Ethanol contains less energy per gallon than gasoline, to varying degrees, depending on the volume percentage of ethanol in the blend. Denatured ethanol (98% ethanol) contains about 30% less energy than gasoline per gallon.'

I believe that one tank of ethanol free gas will not make a difference in performance or gas mileage, but I also believe that if a person ran ethanol free tank after tank on premium gas, the ECM would notice the difference over time and mileage would increase 4-5 miles per gallon, and we know what ethanol does to a fuel system if a automobile sits up for weeks and months, it will cause a severe build up.(Another example)For instance when I 1st purchased my 5.7 tundra I was getting 21 mpg on the highway and 16 mpg city, then in 2009 ethanol came in, there was a recall on gas pedals, ethier ethanol or the gas pedal made my mpg go down to 16 mpg for hwy and city, I'm betting ethanol, my wife's 2012 5.7 toyota sequoia gets 16mpg also no matter what. Ethanol is not worth the trade off.

Interesting. I had ethanol in my tank all winter and constantly since I installed flex fuel kit and I haven’t noticed any negative effects whatsoever. I do plan to run some 10% 93 and a bottle of injector cleaner thru it in the near future but strictly from a preventative stand point not due to any issues. I make a lot more power on the ethanol blend than I do on 93.

Funny, I’ve tried the 100 octane at NCM and ran the exact same trap speed at Beech Bend vs standard 93.

Has anyone done a STFT/LTFT comparison between non-ethanol vs 10% E content in comparable octanes?

Wrong. Ted Jannetty has dynos showing gains of 20-30rwhp on a bone stock car going from 93 to 100 octane.

No way 10% e is costing you 4 - 5 mpg vs non-e 93. E60 only costs me 2mpg compared to 10% e 93
