I saw that it was mentioned here ONCE but I thought I would reinforce it due to my own experience with it on the track and as a daily driver. I have a SS2 1LE so you boys with ZL1s have a little more room to play with on the FRONT.

I have APEX SM-10 19 x 10.5 ET22 wheels wrapped with MS 4S 305 30 19 tires on all four corners (no spacers). I use this for daily driving and DID use it for track prior to getting track only set up described below. I got 19K miles out of the tires with about 12 track days because of tire rotation primarily. I am STILL using TWO of the FOUR MS that I put on originally. In my opinion there is NO BETTER set up for a daily driver than this on an SS 1LE.

TRACK ONLY set up is APEX EC-7 18 x 11 ET25 wrapped in PIRELLI 305 660 18 slicks on all four corners. I tried 315's but they are too wide for the front on an SS 1LE. This COMBO handles GREAT. I DO USE 5MM spacers on the front with extended lug nuts which grab MORE of the wheel stud (instead of using extended studs). CAMBER is -3.6 degrees with VORSHLAG Camber plates and -2.2 degrees camber on rear. The car DOES NOT have any TIRE POKE at the top of the wheel well.

NOTE:

I WOULD NOT use 18 inch wheels on a daily driver if your are running ZL1 brakes (which I do). When we were running COTA, something got caught between the back of the caliber and the inside of the barrel of the wheel and it scratched the wheel. Since the rotor is 15.35 inches in diameter by itself and the caliber of course fits on top of that, there is NOT much clearance there. SO if you are driving the car as a daily driver you could pick up some road debris then that could easily get caught between the back of the caliber and the inside barrel of the wheel. We also found that because of that lack of clearance, the heat can affect the adhesive on the wheel weights and cause them to move out of position which they did in our case. The FIX for this is to simply run some black gorilla tape over the top of the wheel weights to both secure them and to provide a minor heat barrier.

Thanks for the write up. 18” wheels would be awesome, but the 11” width would be excessive for a DD, IMO.

Doesn't have to be, as long as you don't let it be.

Personally, I think it looks 'right' for a car that's built for serious corner-carving. See my sig pic for a front 3/4 view.
