Houston Raceway 1/4 Mile Drag Strip (Baytown) Closing Permanently - Pushed to 3/2023?

Update: the lease has been extended through the end of 2022 and TX2K just announced that the lease was extended further for TX2K23 (presumably in March 2023). The track's website and the NHRA website both advertise the NHRA SpringNationals event next month as the final national level NHRA event they will host so March 2023 may end up truly being their last month of operation.

I still can't believe this place is closing. SO many great memories. Hanging out with my best friend who worked for Craig Caulk selling VP gas back before they installed the race gas pumps, running my '69 Malibu on the Friday night test and tune, cussing up a storm because I was eaten alive by a Toyota Supra, blowing out the rear diff on my '72 Malibu and finally being told by AAA that they would no longer tow me from the track. Good times!
