Hurst shifter

Hurst has a short throw shifter for the tremec 3160 in the LS/LT camaro and claim 40% throw reduction. GM sells one and claims only 4.2% shorter. Is the difference real? I read the hurst shifter thread in the transmission forum but they were discussing the tremec in the V8 camaro. Has anyone installed the hurst shifter in their I4/V6 camaro?

Ive seen that 4.2% claim and felt thats not even noticable, that would equate to slop in the shifter.

4.2 is hilarious to sell you a $300 plus part. Thats like a $500 bolt on that claims 2% more hp.

I installed hurst shifter. It's short and quick. Nice upgrade. I mixed it with the SS shifter also just to get the ball knob option and I have a custom Raceseng knob. Also you dont need to lower the trans and remove the shifter linkage like the directions say. You can skip that section. Just remove the pin from the linkage from the assembly and swap out the shifter. Can be done in a few hours on jack stands
