removal of the GLASS of the side mirror?

Does anyone have a step by step to replace JUST the GLASS in the side mirror?

Mine has some nasty scratches and I would like to

1. Get the replacement glass
2. Replace the glass

Before anyone asks... yes I tried to search and no I could not find what I was looking for.

No I do not need to replace any in but the glass.

Thanks
Bill

Theirs a couple clips 3 i think locking it in. just push the mirror to a corner and use a small Flathead to push on one of the clips and pull on the mirror at the same time. pretty easy. easier if you have the mirror off in my opinion.

Hope this helps

I am currently modding some mirrors now to install led arrows behind the glass so I have mine out right now.Just 4 small clips hold the bracket in place and you pretty much just have to pry the mirror-bracket assembly out.A little unnerving but just go slow and all will be fine.

If you use a screwdriver, wrap it in tape so you won't scratch the housing paint. You should buy some plastic trim tools if you plan on doing any work around the car. Harbor Freight.com has some nice cheap sets.

To install the new glass, line it up on the clips and press in the middle of it with your thumbs to seat. If you put a cloth between the glass and your thumbs, you won't need to clean up the fingerprints afterwards.

All this and much more in my pdf in the mod link below.

Yup!

Yeah it was a very nervous moment for me when I pulled mine cause I was going in blind so to speak, not sure about part numbers though as mine are still good. When in doubt Google it or try EBAY. Good luck!

for the glass...(list prices shown. discounted prices can be had for much less)

92235874 LH heated. $125.79 (self-dimming, that's why it's so expensive)

92235875 RH heated. $46.34

RH and LH complete heated mirror assemblies can be had for around 321 and change.
